Nashville may be known for hot chicken and live music, but it’s also home to an impressive sushi scene. If you’re searching for the best omakase in Nashville, you’ll find everything from traditional chef-led tastings to creative menus with local influences.
I know it can be tough to decide where to spend your money, especially when omakase is often a special occasion meal. Well, that’s actually why I looked into some of the city’s standout spots.
If you’re celebrating, planning a date night, or simply love great sushi, this guide can help you find an experience worth remembering.

1. Virago

Website: https://www.viragonashville.com/
Address: 1120 McGavock Street
Contact: (615) 254-1902
Hours: Monday: 4:30 PM – 10:00 PM | Tuesday – Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Friday – Saturday: 4:30 PM – 11:00 PM | Sunday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Want sushi that’s anything but ordinary? Virago helped put Nashville’s sushi scene on the map by mixing classic Japanese skills with bold, modern flavors. The result is a lively, adventurous dining experience that goes far beyond the basics.
The space itself feels more like a nightlife lounge, especially in the evening, making it a fun choice if you want dinner to turn into a night out.
As for the kitchen, it’s led by Chef Himmi, who brings years of experience and maintains consistent quality. You’ll also find a strong selection of Japanese whiskey and sake that pair well with the food.
That said, the atmosphere can get pretty loud, and the focus here is more on creative rolls than simple, traditional sushi. It’s better for a lively night than a quiet omakase experience.

Our server was phenomenal
Five stars across the board! Celebrated my birthday here last night and I’m still thinking about the meal. Every dish was flawless, but the service was what set it apart. Our server was phenomenal—super helpful with recommendations and kept the energy high all night. Hands down the best birthday dinner I’ve had in years!

2. Kase x Noko

Website: https://kasexnoko.com/
Address: 707 Porter Rd.
Contact: (615)-806-0649 / [email protected]
Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Hidden away on Porter Road, Kase x Noko feels like stepping into a private-chef experience rather than a regular restaurant.
The seating is limited, which makes the entire meal feel personal and immersive. Everything centers on the chef’s tasting progression, and the pacing is fast yet intentional.
The atmosphere is modern, slightly edgy, and very intimate, making it popular among locals who enjoy exclusive dining. What makes it even more special is how interactive the chefs are with guests, creating a direct connection to the food being served.
However, securing a reservation is extremely difficult, and the entire meal moves quickly, which may not suit guests who prefer a slow dining experience. It’s best for people who value creativity and intensity over long, relaxed dinners.

They are great about explaining what you are eating
We’ve been to kase x noko several times, and it’s our favorite restaurant in Nashville. The cocktails are wonderful, and the sushi experience is one to be remembered! I love that you get to watch them make the sushi in front of you, and they are great about explaining what you are eating. The staff members and the bartender are super sweet, and we love that they remember us every time we dine there. Kase x noko is the perfect date night spot. Highly recommend kase x noko, and can’t wait to visit again soon!

It was unforgettable from the service
We went to Kase x Noko for our anniversary, and after living in East Nashville over 12 years it was our favorite dining experience in the whole city! Every single employee told us happy anniversary and the head chef made us a piece of special anniversary sushi! We also got complementary glasses of champagne. It was unforgettable from the service to the food which was undeniably amazing!

3. O-Ku

Website: https://www.o-kusushi.com/
Address: 81 Van Buren Street
Contact: (629) 900-0021 / [email protected]
Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 5:00 – 6:00 PM | Friday – Saturday: 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM | Sunday & Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Craving sushi that’s both inventive and true to its roots? O-Ku strikes a perfect balance, blending modern creativity with classic Japanese techniques.
Their menu features top-notch seafood sourced from around the world, making every dish feel special while honoring traditional flavors. One of the most unique offerings is their box-style sushi, which stands out from typical rolls.
The dining space is stylish and comfortable, making it suitable for both casual dates and more formal nights out. Plus, the staff members are knowledgeable and often explain dishes in detail, which adds to the overall experience.
However, during peak hours, the space can get quite noisy, which detracts from the calm sushi bar atmosphere some diners expect. Prices may also feel slightly high depending on expectations.

Nice ambiance and communicative waiter
5PM reservation, got pretty busy quickly on a Saturday. Waiter was communicative on any delays. Food was delish-nice ambiance. Walk in for sushi bar seemed popular. Black magic and usuzukri to start was great. Good portion for 2 people. For a reservation I wish it was a bit more private we were in front of the front entrance. It got a bit noisy. Other than that it was a good experience 🙂

Really kind and patient with us
The sushi is amazing here! We had two of their specialty rolls and the one roll with salmon and goat cheese. All very fresh and extremely tasty 🙂 Our waitress (whose name I wish I can remember) was really kind and patient with us and provided us with a little treat with our Okinawa donuts. SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! If we are back in Nashville, we will definitely come back 💚💙 Really really impressed and wish the restaurant the best~

4. Sushi | Bar Nashville

Address: 610 Magazine Street
Contact: (615) 208-7999 / [email protected]
Hours: Wednesday – Sunday: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Looking for more than just dinner? Sushi Bar Nashville transforms eating out into an unforgettable event. Tucked behind an unmarked door, your experience begins in a cozy lounge and continues at an intimate chef’s counter.
Every detail here is designed for a truly immersive, theatrical night.
Guests are served a carefully curated tasting menu that focuses on premium fish and creative combinations. The chefs interact closely with diners, which adds a personal touch to the experience.
However, this level of exclusivity comes at a high price, making it one of the most expensive sushi experiences in the city.
There are also strict cancellation policies, so flexibility is limited once a booking is made. So, it’s best suited for special occasions rather than casual dining.

Helped us select the perfect Sake
This was my 3rd visit and it just seemed to get better each time. Special thanks to all 3 chefs – Jacob, Hein and Mikey. Special thanks to Shaylise who helped us select the perfect Sake to accompany our exquisite meal. Already booked my next visit! 😊

Amazing sushi dining and immersive experience
Amazing sushi dining, and an immersive experience.
Fresh fish is crafted into decedent sushi in front of you while the chefs explain what each piece is. Every course is different with complex yet balanced flavor. The meal is satiating.
The service is personal throughout the meal. My friend has a salmon allergy and they are able to change her sushi pieces to accommodate.
We’ve been multiple times and continue to go back. One of the few spots in Nashville that is completely worth the price.

5. Noko

Website: http://www.nokonashville.com/
Address: 701 Porter Rd.
Contact: (615) 712-6894
Hours: Tuesday – Thursday: 5:00 – 9:00 PM | Friday – Saturday: 5:00 – 10:00 PM | Sunday: 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 5:00 – 9:00 PM
If you’re after something fresh and unexpected, Noko delivers modern Asian-inspired cuisine with a wood-fired twist. It’s most notable for the way tradition meets creativity in every bite.
The menu here combines Japanese flavors with Southern cooking methods, resulting in dishes that feel both comforting and adventurous.
The atmosphere is warm and social, making it a great spot for group dinners or date nights. I also appreciate how the drink program is well thought out, with sake and cocktails designed to complement smoky dishes.
The overall experience here feels polished but still approachable compared to more formal omakase spots.
However, reservations are extremely competitive and often sell out quickly. Once seated, the meal’s pace can feel a bit fast, which may not suit diners who prefer a slower experience.

Phenomenal restaurant with well crafted dishes
Noku is a phenomenal restaurant! The dishes are well crafted and elegant. My favorite small dish is definitely the Beef Dumplings. I wish I ordered a second plate of them. For the main course, we really enjoyed the Sea Bass. The sea bass was cooked brilliantly, with a good crisp towards the skin and had a refreshing slaw salad underneath. I definitely recommend and will definitely be returning with my wife and next time some friends too. Kendahl was a wonderful server and made the experience for us that much more enjoyable.

Everything was amazing
SO good! Came here on a snow day because we figured we’d actually be able to get a reservation and we did. Everything was amazing. What I liked least was the brookie, it was too chocolatey for me. I’m not sure you could go wrong with anything though. I loved everything else I ordered!
