We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Ingredient Quality: We focused heavily on the freshness and sourcing of the seafood used in every dish. Restaurants that prioritize high-grade fish consistently deliver a superior dining experience.

Menu Variety: A great dining spot should cater to both purists and adventurous eaters alike. We looked for places offering a solid mix of traditional cuts and innovative modern rolls.

Atmosphere and Vibe: The dining environment plays a huge role in how much you enjoy your meal. We favored locations that provide a memorable setting for either a quiet evening or a lively hangout.

Value for Money: We weighed the portion sizes and overall food quality against the final bill. Finding a place that balances exceptional flavor with reasonable pricing was a major priority for our list.

If you’re searching for excellent Asian restaurants in Nashville, this place should definitely be on your radar.

The only frustrating part is their strict reservation policy, which makes walking in during peak dinner hours nearly impossible. Still, the ambiance and the incredible drinks make planning ahead totally worth it.

  • Curated sake and Japanese whiskey
  • Attached to JW Marriott
  • Specialized late-night menu

This place is a total vibe. They have a DJ spinning vinyl with upbeat jams. I came in because I was traveling solo for my birthday.

I got a seat a the sushi bar and got to watch the chefs do their magic.

I ordered the Premium Myabi and it was worth every penny. I had no idea what was coming but every dish was amazing. Everything that came out was beautiful and presented beautifully. They service was amazing and I would return again.

Finding a stylish backdrop for a romantic date night is easy at Virago. This long-standing premier destination serves up an award-winning Asian fusion menu that consistently impresses locals and tourists alike.

Their famous Maki Sake Monday happy hour is a massive draw because it offers incredible value on signature dishes. You also get to enjoy an expansive selection of expertly crafted rolls in a wonderfully upscale environment.

Further elevating the mood, the sleek decor sets a vibrant tone before a fun night out on the town.

However, that intense popularity often leads to a crowded dining room and elevated noise levels on weekends. If you want a quiet evening, you might need to visit on a slower weekday.

Overall, Virago remains a fantastic choice for celebrating special occasions in style.

Great Experience

I had a great experience surprising a friend with a dinner at Virago. The atmosphere was astonishing. The servers were very attentive. Overall I am excited to plan another visit. The food was my favorite part. I can’t wait to go back and try more sushi.

Service was Impeccable

I went here for NYE dinner & I liked it so much that I came back the next night lol. I have a severe shellfish allergy that can make sushi spots a big challenge for me. That was not the case at Virago. The service was impeccable! Both my servers were so kind. Best maguro I’ve had in a bit. Thank yall so much!!

Sushi Bar Nashville is a speakeasy-style joint that delivers a highly exclusive omakase tasting experience that you won’t easily forget. The expert chefs focus on premium seasonal ingredients flown in fresh to highlight incredible flavors from land and sea.

Sitting down for this fully immersive meal is genuinely educational as the staff explains every delicate detail.

When I treated myself to their dinner service last month, the intimate and limited-seating arrangement made me feel like a VIP. It’s easily one of the most impressive fine dining restaurants in Nashville for a major celebration.

Unfortunately, the strict reservation-only format leaves absolutely zero room for casual or walk-in dining. You have to commit to the set menu and plan well in advance. If you manage to secure a spot, though, the culinary journey is breathtaking!

Pros

  • Fully immersive omakase menu
  • Incredibly intimate setting
  • Rotating fresh seasonal ingredients
  • Central Gulch location

Cons

  • Strict reservation-only format

Immersive Experience

Amazing sushi dining, and an immersive experience.

Fresh fish is crafted into decedent sushi in front of you while the chefs explain what each piece is. Every course is different with complex yet balanced flavor. The meal is satiating.

The service is personal throughout the meal. My friend has a salmon allergy and they are able to change her sushi pieces to accommodate.

We’ve been multiple times and continue to go back. One of the few spots in Nashville that is completely worth the price.

Worth Every Penny

11/10 experience. The best sushi I’ve ever had in my life, and I eat a lot of sushi. After going to a lot of major food cities in the U.S. this is the best. Quality, service, presentation, flavor combinations, etc. Josh was amazing.

Very insightful, outgoing, and funny. Best sushi in Nashville by a mile. Spendy, but worth every penny. Would come every week. Melt in your mouth.

5. Kase x Noko

Adventurous eaters flock to East Nashville just to secure a seat at this wonderfully cozy destination. Kase x Noko excels at serving premium seafood through a highly structured omakase tasting alongside flexible à la carte bites.

They source their ingredients directly to ensure peak freshness, which translates into massive flavor on every plate. You can also elevate your meal with their expertly curated sake pairing options.

I love how dining here means experiencing deeply personal, attentive service that perfectly matches the high quality of the fresh fish.

The major downside is their notoriously difficult reservation system, which makes it challenging for spontaneous diners to grab a table.

Securing a booking requires patience and keen timing, but those who put in the effort are rewarded with a truly fantastic culinary adventure in a truly fantastic neighborhood.

Pros

  • Highly structured omakase
  • Expertly curated sake pairings
  • Premium direct-sourced seafood
  • Deeply personal service

Cons

  • Difficult reservation system
  • Challenging for spontaneous diners

OneTo Be Remembered

We’ve been to kase x noko several times, and it’s our favorite restaurant in Nashville. The cocktails are wonderful, and the sushi experience is one to be remembered! I love that you get to watch them make the sushi in front of you, and they are great about explaining what you are eating. The staff members and the bartender are super sweet, and we love that they remember us every time we dine there. Kase x noko is the perfect date night spot. Highly recommend kase x noko, and can’t wait to visit again soon!

Most Incredible Spot

This place is the most incredible spot I’ve been to in Nashville. This is every bit the taste of Japan I hoped it would be. I went to Japan last year and needed to be reminded of how good sushi can be, and Kase didn’t disappoint.

As for the service – unrivaled. Junior was top notch. If I could have him be my chef/server at every restaurant I go to, I would.
