Nashville features an active martial arts scene, though walking into a fight gym for the first time can feel deeply intimidating.
It can be such a hassle to look into a contract only to discover underwhelming coaching or a lack of proper equipment. The right spot keeps you coming back, while the wrong one will have you packing up your gloves within a month.
You see, first-timers build genuine confidence with authentic Muay Thai training methods. Fitness crowds get the intense cardio conditioning they crave, and future competitors receive the proper sparring to prepare for amateur bouts.
To save you from wasting time and money, I stepped onto the mats to handle the heavy hits and the heavy lifting. Let’s go and explore the top Muay Thai gyms in Nashville to find exactly what matches your training goals.

Address: 2905 Wingate Avenue
Contact: (615) 663-1932
Schedule:
- Mon 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Tues 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

- Fri 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Sat 9 :00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sun 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Chonburi Muay Thai delivers pure striking backed by authentic lineage. Instead of basic cardio kickboxing, you learn the art directly from Panyapol “Bruce” Ratanakul and former World Boxing Council (WBC) champions.
That authentic expertise completely changes the vibe of your standard workout.
Legitimate fight camps replace generic fitness routines here. Group classes feature two coaches on the mats, ensuring you receive direct feedback to nail your form safely.
The demanding training environment naturally builds discipline and mutual respect among students. But even though the training is intense and the personal trainers and coaches push you hard, you don’t have to be a pro to step on the mat.
Despite the high-level instruction, the atmosphere remains surprisingly welcoming for newcomers. Since the facility focuses exclusively on striking, serious students seeking deep ties to Thai fighting traditions find exactly what they need.
The $35 drop-in rate feels steep for a casual visit, but the quality of coaching justifies the investment for those committed to the craft.

This is the place for you
Great gym focusing only on Muay Thai with a welcoming and encouraging group of coaches. The founder has trained almost his whole life and learned from renowned Thai coaches and fighters. Classes range from beginner to advanced, however many advanced students take part in beginner classes to help others and warm up for the next class. Multiple coaches oversee each class to help with technique and understanding. Whether you just want to improve yourself through learning a martial art or wish to test yourself through competition this is the place for you.

2. Nashville MMA Training Camp

Website: https://nashvillemma.com/
Address: 1504 Elm Hill Pike
Contact: (615) 297-4430 | [email protected]
Schedule:
- Mon-Thurs 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Fri 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Sat-Sun 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Nashville Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Training Camp operates out of a massive 40,000-square-foot facility. Enormous mat spaces sit alongside dedicated strength training zones to accommodate various combat disciplines under one roof.
That massive area gives them plenty of room to offer an incredibly diverse training lineup. If you’re the type who likes to mix things up, you’ll appreciate the variety here.
I love how the coaching staff uses a tiered system to keep everyone safe and progressing. Initially, newcomers get the space to figure out the basics, while the active fighters go hard in their own advanced sessions.
Beyond the mats, you get access to recovery amenities, including yoga and an in-house chiropractor.
Just a heads-up, though. Their evening parking lot can be a total nightmare, and they have a strict 28-day cancellation policy. Still, if you want to pair your Muay Thai with some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) or wrestling, this is easily your best bet.

3. SwiftKick

Address: 403 Harding Industrial Drive
Contact: (615) 732-2662 | [email protected]
Schedule: Mon-Sat 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM
SwiftKick offers transparent pricing and zero mandatory long-term contracts. They allow you to train on a flexible month-to-month basis, which removes the usual financial pressure found in the fitness industry.
This highly accessible financial model is uniquely paired with elite-level combat sports instruction.
The gym is led by Bernard “Swiftkick” Robinson, a former three-time world kickboxing champion. Having a coach with that level of combat-tested experience ensures you’re learning authentic, effective techniques in every session.
Notably, their program covers both striking and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in an ego-free environment. Technique-driven classes allow you to refine fundamental combinations without the intimidation factor often present at high-intensity fight gyms.
While it’s a solid choice for hobbyists seeking quality instruction, the facility usually opens in the late afternoon on weekdays, meaning morning workouts are not an option. This schedule can be a hurdle for those with non-traditional work hours.
Still, the affordable rates and lack of contracts make SwiftKick an accessible entry point for most people in Nashville.

Schedule:
- Mon-Tues 6 :00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Wed-Thurs 6:00 AM – 9 PM
- Fri 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sat 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sun 6 :00 AM – 3:00 PM
Fight Force Fitness seamlessly adapts routines for young kids, amputees, and neurodivergent individuals. Beginners usually feel at ease stepping onto the mat here since sparring remains entirely optional.
Their inclusive and welcoming environment doesn’t happen by accident, either; it’s built directly by the guy running the show. Former professional fighter D.J. Miller leads the sessions, fostering community and personal growth rather than generic fitness.
I love that groups average about eight people, ensuring you receive direct feedback on your pad work without crowding. Also, you pay through a simple month-to-month structure and get instruction focused strictly on genuine Sidthilaw Muay Thai technique.
However, weekday group sessions mostly occur at 6:00 PM, which limits options for late-shift workers or parents managing evening routines. But the affordable pricing makes it a practical option if that time fits your day.

- Saturday 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Sun 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
National champion of Muay Thai, PJ McMahon, leads the striking program at Renzo Gracie Nashville, bringing decades of professional experience to the mats.
The curriculum here pairs lineage-backed traditions directly alongside heavy modern conditioning.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to experience that top-tier training, they’ve built an environment that actually welcomes the whole family. Members train across multiple spacious locations, and kids as young as four step in for structured youth classes.
Families often train at the same time, turning what could be an intimidating facility into a supportive environment, giving them the perfect opportunity to bond, instead of the usual leisure activities like having a staycation.
But this level of instruction requires a premium membership. Also, the atmosphere leans heavily into modern combat sports rather than traditional Thai cultural elements like the Wai Kru.
Still, the detailed breakdowns of dynamic footwork and technical sparring sessions help justify the cost for serious learners.

Makes it possible to learn multiple facets of martial arts
Their new Muay Thai program makes it possible to learn multiple facets of martial arts. Coach PJ does a fantastic job of going around and making sure each student understands the technique, and that everyone is executing the technique safely all while making sure you get a good sweat. His pool of knowledge is large and you can expect to leave with a new combo each class.
