Customer Reviews

We had our wedding dinner in the Jeff Ruby room & the entire night was so amazing! Our server Evan made the night super special for our group and his attention to detail was superb! I’ve had many friends recommend Jeff Ruby’s when looking for a great steakhouse & I could not agree more. Everything from cocktails on the private patio to the wonderful customized menu and beautiful atmosphere, the entire evening was 100% A+.

A great steakhouse! We celebrated our 26th anniversary dinner here, and it did not disappoint. The service staff were all incredibly friendly, the food was excellent, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was perfect for a special night out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Jeff Ruby’s and would definitely return! Thanks for the special anniversary dessert 🥰

3. Harper’s

Address: 2 Lea Avenue, Nashville, TN 37210
Contact: 615-208-6435
Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Friday: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Saturday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Harper’s sets itself apart by merging high-energy dining with diverse global flavor profiles. Diners get to enjoy their meals in a distinct botanical garden room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and lush floral centerpieces.

I spoke with a colleague who recently attended their weekend brunch, and she raved about the premium steak and eggs paired with tableside Champagne service. The primary dining area offers a vibrant maximalist aesthetic filled with dark leather booths.

They generously allow outside wine bottles for a standard corkage fee to help you celebrate special milestones.

That said, management rigorously enforces an elegant dress code, meaning casual wear like shorts and open-toe shoes is prohibited. The venue is also specifically tailored for adults, so bringing children under twelve is actively discouraged.

Pros

  • Weekday early bar specials
  • Friday midday lunch service
  • Outside wine vintages permitted
  • Live local brunch entertainment

Cons

  • Strict kid-free environment policy
  • Elegant business casual requirement

Customer Reviews

Harper’s is by far the best steakhouse in Nashville. Whether it be the attentive service, delicious food, and warm atmosphere Harper’s delivers an exceptional experience. I last dined at Harper’s in early November and was served by Tony and Julia. I want to personally thank both of them for their outstanding service, professionalism, and attention to detail. To the Harper’s staff; your commitment to excellence has gained you a patron for life. I am so truly thankful to live in a city with such a wonderful establishment.

Had an exceptional experience at Harper’s. Our server, Branson, was an absolute delight, gracious, attentive, and spot-on with his recommendations. From the steak tartare to the tomahawk and finishing with the butter cake, everything was perfect. We usually expect a few bumps with the first 5pm reservation, but the kitchen was in full stride from the start. Best overall steakhouse experience we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back.

4. Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina

Website: nashvillebourbonsteak.com
Address: 201 8th Ave S – 34th floor, Nashville, TN
Contact: 629-208-8440
Hours: Sunday to Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Friday to Saturday: 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Elevated on the thirty-fourth floor, Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina provides diners with an immersive visual experience featuring wrap-around perspectives of the downtown skyline.

Every cut of meat undergoes a highly specific poaching process in a bath of beef tallow and herb-infused butter to ensure maximum tenderness. Instead of grabbing pasta at an Italian restaurant tonight, you might prefer tasting these meticulously prepared steaks handled by their in-house butcher.

They stock an incredible variety of labels in their massive wine cellar to pair perfectly with your meal. Guests even receive complimentary valet parking for the duration of a standard dinner.

However, diners wishing to bring their own special vintage from home will face a steep penalty fee. Bringing in a celebratory cake from another bakery also incurs an additional surcharge per person at the table.

Pros

  • Complimentary dinner valet parking
  • No hidden room rental charges
  • Consistent local critical acclaim
  • Extended late-night bar hours

Cons

  • Steep outside wine penalty fee
  • Surcharge for outside desserts

Customer Reviews

This was quite possibly the best meal I have ever had. I love a nice steakhouse, but this one tops the list. I have never tasted a steak quite like the 50 day dry aged ribeye, top notch. My wife had the Lobster Wellington and loved it. The fries that they serve in place of bread service were incredible. All the sides were great, but the truffle mac topped the chart on the sides. And the desserts were incredible. Overall a fantastic experience! Better than what could have been expected.

Bourbon Steak has been my favorite steakhouse in Nashville so far, and I’ve visited several. Restaurant is clean, inviting, and interesting. What a view! Service is top notch. Food is tastes fantastic. I dined alone and really appreciated your kind staff being friendly and kind. Thank you so much for all of the gluten accommodations! My family will be back this winter! Love your place!

5. The Standard

the-standard

Website: smithhousenashville.com
Address: 167 Rosa L. Parks Blvd Nashville, TN
Contact: 615-254-1277
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM | Friday to Saturday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The Standard is downtown’s last surviving grand townhouse with beautiful antebellum Italianate architecture. This location caters to premium tastes by serving highly exclusive cuts of beef, including a specialized two-ounce portion of snow-aged wagyu.

The upper floors even house a private society tailored for guests who appreciate high-end networking. You can also explore their massive historic event space capable of hosting up to two hundred guests for large-scale gatherings.

Their menu incorporates regional flavors beautifully, offering classic Southern starters like fried green tomatoes.

However, groups face an enforced tip minimum, as the restaurant automatically adds a service charge for parties of five or more. Diners who wish to share a single entree to save money are penalized with a specific fee just to split the meal.

Pros

  • Dedicated onsite valet assistance
  • Southern-influenced food starters
  • Beautiful outdoor patio courtyard
  • Top-tier traditional meat selection

Cons

  • Automatic large group gratuity
  • Specific entree splitting penalty

Customer Reviews

Skip the steakhouse chains.

Lobster, petit filet (great quality and cooked perfectly) and the best homemade Mac n cheese (no bread crumbs)! Wine list is exceptional. Ambiance is romantic. David A. is a pro at service. Knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Highly suggest a drink in the bar prior to dinner.

The combination of the history, atmosphere and service ALMOST overshadow the quality and taste of the food. …Will be back…Would DEFINITELY recommend this steakhouse. I do suggest that the “$” rating be raised to atleast “3”. Was fairly pricy but I am NOT sorry because the total package was worth it.
