We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Service Range: We looked at the full spectrum of care each community provides. Facilities that offer everything from independent living to skilled nursing and memory care scored higher in our evaluation.
  •
  • Pricing and Packages: Transparent pricing is key when planning for long-term care. We highlighted communities that clearly outline contract terms, offer a variety of care plans, and include continuing care benefits.
  •
  • Specialist Approach: Specialized programs make a big difference. Communities with dedicated memory care and rehabilitation services, and strong hospital partnerships, ranked higher with us.
  •
  • Location and Accessibility: A convenient location improves residents’ quality of life and makes visiting easier for families. We considered proximity to healthcare facilities, access to public transit, and overall neighborhood walkability.
  •
  • Staff Credentials: Great care comes from great people. We looked for communities with licensed nurses, certified caregivers, and wellness professionals who are committed to residents’ daily well-being.

Finding the right care for a loved one is one of life’s most important (and often most overwhelming) decisions.

1. Belmont Village Senior Living Green Hills

belmont-village-senior-living-green-hills

Website: https://www.belmontvillage.com/

Address: 4206 Stammer Pl

Contact: 615.551.1269

Hours: Available 24/7

Belmont Village Senior Living Green Hills stands out through its award-winning Circle of Friends program. The program focuses heavily on brain fitness for residents experiencing mild cognitive impairment.

They maintain a 24/7 on-site licensed nurse, ensuring a high level of clinical oversight that provides peace of mind for families.

Their unique partnership with Vanderbilt University also gives residents access to lifelong learning opportunities.

During a recent visit with a friend whose mother resides here, I noticed how engaged the residents were with the chef-prepared dining at Josephine’s Kitchen. That’s very important to me as I don’t want my loved one to be stuck with bland food.

This premium level of care does come at a higher price, though. The urban location also limits access to expansive outdoor green spaces or private walking trails.

Pros

  • Located near Green Hills Mall and dining
  • Professional chef-prepared daily meals
  • Purpose-built architecture for senior safety
  • Evidence-based cognitive fitness activities

Cons

  • Highly expensive premium pricing structure
  • Lacks sprawling outdoor green space

“…I Cannot Say Enough Nice Things about the Experience!”

We just moved my dad into Belmont Village this week and I cannot say enough nice things about the experience! From my first conversation with Justin to getting my dad settled with his pal, it has been wonderful. We really appreciate the personal attention he is getting and peace of mind it gives us. Lovely place, kept super clean, friendly staff who welcome you at all times, communicate with updates and details on daily activities.

“The Community has Lots of Engaging Activities…”

The management, nurses, and caregivers go out of their way to look after the well-being of their residents. The community has lots of engaging activities as well as targeted programs for those experiencing memory loss in various stages. I would recommend Belmont Village for any family looking for a supported home away from home for their loved one.

2. Clarendale West End

clarendale-west-end

Website: https://clarendalewestend.com/

Address: 3416 Park Dr

Contact: 629-262-9414

Hours: Available 24/7

Clarendale West End operates on a monthly rental model, removing the large upfront fees typical of many continuing care communities.

When we looked into them, we really loved their nationally recognized Heartfelt Connections program. It focuses on the abilities residents still have, rather than what they’ve lost, creating an empowering memory care environment.

The Health and Wellness Navigation program further supports residents by coordinating medical appointments and streamlining care.

Being located in a dense urban setting does bring some trade-offs, though. Parking can be challenging, with visitors relying on a secured garage or valet.

And while the seventeen-story building brings a modern metropolitan energy to senior living, the luxury amenities and high-end design contribute to a steep monthly cost for most local families.

Pros

  • Walking distance to Centennial Park
  • Independent, assisted, and memory care
  • Resort-style spa, bistro, and theater
  • Restaurant-quality executive chef dining

Cons

  • Premium pricing bracket
  • Challenging parking situation

“Such a Great Experience!”

Such a great experience! The food was amazing, but what really stood out was the hospitality. The team made us feel so welcomed and taken care of from start to finish. Roman was our server and he was phenomenal. He was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond. You can tell this community takes pride in their service.

“The Best Decision was Moving Mom to Clarendale”

2025 has been an incredibly difficult year for our family; however, the best decision was moving Mom to Clarendale. These life changes can be tough for anyone, but the team made her feel at home throughout the process. They have gone above and beyond to make it a smooth transition and feel welcomed in the community.

3. Blakeford at Green Hills

blakeford-at-green-hills

Website: https://blakeford.com/

Address: 11 Burton Hills Blvd

Contact: (615) 665-9505

Hours: Available 24/7

Blakeford is a locally established nonprofit, which means earnings are reinvested directly into care services and community improvements rather than going to outside shareholders.

They offer the comprehensive LiveWell By Blakeford program. This provides long-term care coordination for seniors who wish to remain in their own homes. This setup works similarly to using home health care providers in Nashville.

Their Apollo Project brings creative poetry programs to memory care residents, encouraging cognitive engagement.

It’s also great that their on-site clinic partnered with Vanderbilt Health. It helps streamline medical care and advocacy.

The retirement home also recently had a $75 million expansion. They now offer even more amenities.

The only downside is that securing a spot can be challenging due to high demand and waitlists.

Pros

  • Recent $75 million facility expansion
  • Full continuum of on-site care
  • Prime location near Green Hills Mall
  • Highly rated dining and social calendar

Cons

  • Waitlists for independent living
  • Occasional short-staffing challenges

“Blakerford is a Wonderful Place to Live”

Blakeford is a wonderful place to live. My parents moved to Blakeford in October, 2019. My father passed away in 2022 and my mother continues to thrive at Blakeford. The facility, the staff, the service, the community of residents, and the location are all first class. We love visiting and staying with my mom there, it is just a wonderful place to be.

4. Clarendale at Bellevue Place

clarendale-at-bellevue-place

Website: https://clarendaleatbellevueplace.com/

Address: 7632 Hwy 70 S

Contact: 615-212-5089

Hours: Available 24/7

Clarendale at Bellevue Place provides a predictable lifetime pricing guarantee for memory care, locking in costs at the time of move-in.

This financial stability offers peace of mind for families and is often recommended by Nashville financial advisors when planning long-term care budgets.

The facility also delivers resort-style service through its Extraordinary Impressions hospitality program. The community also benefits from a prime location near Bellevue Place Mall.

We also love their Heartfelt CONNECTIONS program. It emphasizes life-affirming activities that help build self-esteem in residents with dementia.

However, some families have reported administrative challenges. These include high caregiver turnover and slower responses to routine housekeeping requests.

Pros

  • Village-style neighborhood integration
  • Independent, assisted, and memory care
  • On-site pub, spa, and fitness studio
  • Fresh meals tailored to dietary needs

Cons

  • High caregiving staff turnover
  • Delayed housekeeping response times

“I Cannot Say Enough Good Things about Clarendale”

I moved my mom into the independent living at Clarendale at Bellevue Place. It has been a wonderful experience from the start. Jordan has been an absolute Godsend in this process. We had a lot of challenges and he walked us through everything. The staff are friendly and professional and so compassionate. Mom is getting settled and happy to have her own place again. I cannot say enough good things about Clarendale.

5. The Crestmoor at Green Hills

the-crestmoor-at-green-hills

Website: https://thecrestmoor.com/

Address: 3808 Cleghorn Ave

Contact: (615) 275-5000

Hours: Available 24/7

The Crestmoor at Green Hills offers a rooftop sky lounge and bar with sweeping views of the Nashville skyline, giving residents a striking urban living experience.

Unlike traditional life plan communities that require a large upfront buy-in, Crestmoor operates on a luxury high-rise rental model. This provides more financial flexibility to residents.

On top of that, residents benefit from Vanderbilt Health medical advocacy, including chauffeured transportation to appointments.

During a recent tour, we were impressed by the 24/7 personal concierge and complimentary valet services, which add convenience and peace of mind.

Just note that this level of luxury does come at a premium, with monthly costs starting around $5,200. The urban high-rise setting also means it lacks the quiet, wooded walking trails found in more suburban communities.

Pros

  • Exceptional neighborhood walkability
  • Modern apartments with high ceilings
  • Independent, assisted, and memory care
  • Indoor heated pool and private cinema

Cons

  • Very expensive monthly starting rate
  • No private sprawling green acreage

Customer Reviews

“I Know My Clients are in Good Hands”

I have helped several families move into Crestmoor. Many of which I and my company have worked with for years, so much that they seem like family. I always feel so relieved afterwards as I know they will be happy and well taken care of. Anna, Shannon and Bill are an amazing team. I know my clients are in good hands and will have everything they need, as the Crestmoor provides! I cannot believe there is still memory care openings!

“I Know My Aunt is Well Taken Care of Here”

The dining experience at The Crestmoor is nothing short of an experience thanks to delicious food offerings and an attentive staff. I had the opportunity to meet the food and beverage director, Chris, as he was making his rounds throughout the dining room and I also got the opportunity to tour the rest of the community. It is beautiful, and the rooftop bar has the best view in Green Hills. I know my aunt is well taken care of here.
