We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Menu Variety: We checked for the availability of classic dishes like gyros, souvlaki, moussaka, and baklava. A diverse menu ensures diners can enjoy a wide spectrum of traditional flavors.
  •
  • Pricing and Value: Our team evaluated portion sizes, overall affordability, and the availability of combo meal options. Good value means you walk away with a full stomach without emptying your wallet.
  •
  • Authenticity: We looked closely at the use of traditional recipes, imported ingredients, and genuine cooking techniques. These preparation methods are crucial for delivering that true Mediterranean taste.
  •
  • Location and Accessibility: We factored in central locations, parking convenience, and the choice between dine-in or takeout options. Easy access makes a dining destination much more appealing for busy locals and tourists alike.
  •
  • Customer Experience: We assessed service quality, ambiance, and the overall dining atmosphere. A welcoming environment and attentive staff are essential for a memorable meal out.

1. Greko Greek Street Food

Website: http://www.grekostreetfood.com/

Address: 704 Main Street

Contact: 615.203.0251

Hours: Daily, 11 AM – 9 PM

Greko Greek Street Food brings authentic, family-crafted dishes and an energetic street food culture directly to our local culinary scene.

Stepping inside feels like grabbing a quick bite right off the vibrant streets of Athens. The aroma of roasted meats hits you immediately, promising a satisfying and deeply flavorful meal.

I stopped by last Tuesday for a quick lunch, and the charred edges of their pita bread combined with the tangy tzatziki sauce absolutely hit the spot.

You can enjoy your meal in the traditional dining room or head out to the back patio equipped with open-air seating.

The restaurant keeps its doors open seven days a week. However, the menu focuses heavily on casual dishes, which limits options if you want a formal, multi-course dining experience.

Pros

  • Diverse indoor seating arrangements
  • Open seven days a week
  • Features an open-air back patio

Cons

  • Menu focuses heavily on street food
  • Limited formal dining options

Customer Reviews:

We had a great experience here. We got the beef souvlaki and the street fries and were not disappointed. Great flavor! Be sure to ask about some dipping sauces because those were an incredible addition to the meal!

Yyyyyyyyumm!!! Our Greek family loves eating here when they’re in town, us too! When the Titans are playing at home they are slow so we took at advantage of it! We ordered 3 skewers the pork, beef and swordfish, street rice and hummus with pita and it was PLENTY and absolutely DELICIOUS- thank you all!

2. Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe – West End

Website: https://www.tazikis.com/location/west-end/

Address: 3001 West End Ave

Contact: 615-724-2276

Hours: Daily, 11 AM – 9 PM

Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe offers fresh, casual dishes perfect for quick lunches or relaxed dinners after a busy day.

It’s one of the most well-situated restaurants in Nashville, sitting perfectly within walking distance of local universities. They even show a strong community presence by actively supporting local schools and charities.

Moving on to the food, their menu is packed with crisp veggies and savory proteins that keep you energized without weighing you down.

The experienced staff ensures quick service, making it easy to grab a table on their spacious outdoor patio for some comfortable al fresco dining.

But keep in mind that since this is part of a broader corporate chain, it lacks the uniquely independent feel of a standalone neighborhood eatery.

Pros

  • Walking distance to universities
  • Spacious outdoor dining patio
  • Actively supports local charities
  • Experienced and dedicated staff

Cons

  • Lacks a uniquely independent feel
  • Menu lacks localized specialty items

Customer Reviews:

Taziki’s West End is our go-to place for take-out dinner when we don’t feel like cooking or have dinner guests. We live the 4-person Family Feasts, usually a large Greek Salad with either grilled salmon or chicken kebabs and a side dish like roasted new potatoes or balsamic rice. It’s consistently excellent and we always have leftovers.

My wife and I were in Nashville from Dallas, and we wanted a quick bite to eat. We were looking for a restaurant near Lower Boulevard (since most of the restaurants are there), but the parking price was astronomical. We drove around aimlessly until I saw the sign for Taziki’s at a stop light. We whipped the car around, parked for free, and had excellent Greek food in no time. I highly recommend it.

3. Nick the Greek

nick-the-greek

Website: https://www.nickthegreek.com/

Address: 943 Church St.

Contact: (615) 857-8829

Hours: Daily, 10 AM – 10 PM

Craving bold spices and juicy meats roasted to perfection? This fast-casual establishment brings the vibrant atmosphere and bold flavors of authentic Mediterranean street food directly to the local culinary scene.

Nick the Greek centers its traditional menu around slowly cooked rotisserie meats and open-flame skewers that smell absolutely heavenly.

I grabbed a gyro bowl here during a chaotic weekend, and the generous portions completely saved my afternoon. The menu provides an accessible taste of Hellenic recipes through specialized plates, and they even offer kid-friendly options for families.

You can easily balance out those savory meals with modern dessert items, such as specialty frozen yogurt and traditional baklava.

One downside is the heavy emphasis on quick-service formats, meaning it might not cater to patrons seeking a multi-course meal with dedicated table service.

Pros

  • Traditional rotisserie-style cooking
  • Generous bowl and plate portions
  • Specialized kid-friendly plates
  • Modern and unique dessert items

Cons

  • No dedicated table service
  • Limited multi-course options

Customer Reviews:

Man this place is the bomb. This is by far the best Greek food I’ve had outside of Chicago. I’m working in downtown Nashville and had a taste for Greek food and let me just say this spot absolutely came through. The Greek salad IS ON POINT. Not to mention the lamb gyro meat and the kabobs HIT THE ABSOLUTE SPOT.. IF YOU’RE IN THE AREA YOU GOT TO STOP HERE

The food was amazing! Definitely the best Greek food I’ve had in Nashville. Jace was so helpful and friendly. I have a gluten allergy and he easily walked me through what I could have which was a lot of options. Their fries are also gluten free and fantastic!

Customer Reviews:

We absolutely loved this restaurant!! We sat in the covered patio in December. It was the tiniest bit chilly, but they had blankets  available and heaters going to make it cozy and comfortable. Our waitress, Abigail, was outstanding. She helped us find the perfect wine, and guided us through the right amount of food. We ordered the Greek salad, crispy  potatoes, honey halloumi, grilled lamb chops, and the tenderloin kebab. Every bite was so delicious! The atmosphere was top tier, especially in the Christmas season. We are definitely returning!!

Emily J | Google Review

The potatoes were not great. Highly recommend the kebabs. We had the short rib hummus that was super yummy. We had the sticky date cake and the frozen Greek yogurt topped with olive oil and salt – both were FABULOUS!!!
