Good experience at NSCC
Overall I had a good experience at NSCC. There was some very helpful teachers. The staff in records, financial aid and administration are very helpful and so much faster than other universities in the area. The facility was nice and kept clean. While the parking in front could get full there was always plenty of parking on the back lot.

NSCC is a great place to start if you want to get a higher education, the school offers transfer programs, which are available to students with certain qualifications and good academic grades. Dr Jackson, the director; She is a great example of persuading greatness and an experienced leader who has been working with the community to improve the quality of the school system. She also has a great staff that are very supportive to students. I am a proud student who’s recommend NSCC.

Best university in the nation
Best university in the nation. “Harvard of the South” is a discredit to Vanderbilt by association with a lower tier institution. Fantastic faculty and classes are a hallmark of all its schools with great student:teacher ratios and quality, industry leading professors. Administration is fairly solid as far as universities go. The student culture is also very relaxed, and it should be easy for most people to find a great group of friends among a campus that isn’t too large but has great student body variety.

Finding a school that honors deep cultural roots while diving headfirst into modern tech is tough, but Tennessee State University pulls it off.
As the only state-funded Historically Black College or University in Tennessee, it carries a powerful legacy right alongside an elite doctoral research status.
You can actually get hands-on with emerging tech like robotics at their Smart and Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Center. They even focus heavily on getting you ready for the workforce.
In-state tuition sits around $10,800 a year, giving adult learners a solid way to upskill without draining their savings.
But you do have to work around some quirky schedule changes during the summer term, since the whole campus shuts down on Fridays from June through early August.

Plus good educators who are actually willing to help you grasp the concepts. it is also not a gated community so I’d be careful walking around at night. then again that’s everywhere right.

When I walked the campus last fall, I saw right away how this faith-driven focus creates a super supportive, tight-knit vibe among the students.
You also get to see the world, as their global learning program bakes study-abroad trips to places like Florence and London right into your core classes. As a private school, you need a solid financial plan to cover the premium tuition, though.
You’ll also have to follow a strict faith-based behavioral code and show up for mandatory chapel. If you want a standard, secular college run, this might not be your uni.

Attended Lipscomb for my graduate degree after receiving my bachelors from a large public university. It was a great decision. Knowledgeable, personable professors. I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb’s campus and enjoy seeing how it’s changed. Lipscomb may not be for everyone, but I encourage prospective students to schedule a campus visit and take a tour.

Going to a smaller school offers a huge edge if you thrive on close mentorship. Fisk University acts as a major pipeline for African Americans earning doctoral degrees in the natural sciences.
They use a family mentorship model, so you never feel lost in the crowd. Studying here means walking through a National Historic District and hearing the famous Jubilee Singers practice in the background.
The university does a fantastic job of pushing graduates into high-earning careers, helping offset the premium private tuition. You even get to jump into serious, hands-on research projects super early in your undergrad years.
They focus heavily on the liberal arts, which cover humanities, sciences, and math, rather than strictly vocational training. So, if you’re hunting for a super-niche technical degree, a massive state school might be a better fit.

The most beautiful place I’ve seen
This is a Historic Black College. The parts that I did see I was very impressed. The campus is beautiful to me. It had his history, it represents my people, and it tells the struggle that we’ve had all our lives.
When most people think of a Black College, they think of it being in the hood. This college may have been in a hood, but it was the most beautiful place I’ve seen.
