Have you ever watched those mystery thrillers and kept screaming at the screen because the detectives missed one crucial clue? Well, you can be in the line of action (sort of) and satisfy your need for solving cryptic clues by visiting Nashville’s escape rooms!
They’re some of my favourite places to visit with my friends, apart from karaoke bars, because they offer a sweet balance between adrenaline, mystery, and of course, teamwork! We may end up arguing (and panicking) during the process, but that’s part of the fun.
So, if you’re looking to escape the ordinary, you’ve come to the right place. With the help of my friends, we were able to narrow down the best escape rooms in Nashville and even provide some handy tips. Keep on reading!
The Escape Game Nashville (Berry Hill)
– Media credit: nashvilleauthority
Address: 510 E Iris Dr.
Contact details: +1 615-647-8229
Operating hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Cost: $38.99 to $40.99+
To state that The Escape Game Nashville is simply an escape room won’t do it justice, as it’s more of a fully-fledged adventure! It offers numerous thematic rooms, complete with compelling storylines and production values akin to Hollywood sets.
We love these rooms because they do a great job of making you feel like you’re a character in the world they’re set in. For instance, “The Heist” offers an espionage-like feel, where you’ll play as an agent looking for a stolen valuable art piece by investigating an art gallery.
If you’re looking for a more challenging experience, the “Prison Break” room should be right up your alley. It features several rooms, secret passages, and the set is well-designed enough to disorient you into thinking you’re actually in a rugged prison.
Pro tip:
If you don’t know which room to book for your friends, we recommend exploring their games on their official website and watching the trailers for each room! These trailers offer a glimpse into the storyline and the rooms themselves.
Breakout Games
– Media credit: leah.beyondbaltimore
Address: 1209 Lakeview Dr, Franklin
Contact details: +1 615-645-3450
Operating hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM to 10:45 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Cost: $127.96+
Breakout Games is one of America’s leading escape rooms, but the main reason we love going here is its staff members. They’re the ones who trended on Instagram because they like messing with their players by slamming doors or making things fall off to jumpscare them.
The selection of rooms here is impressive as well, featuring themes such as The Wild West, a creepy old mansion, and even an island with a rumbling volcano! Our favourite, however, is the “Bomb Squad”, where you’ll have to disarm a hidden and deadly explosive beneath the city.
We also like how they spice up the traditional escape room experience by adding suspense, like in “The Kidnapping”, where you and your group will start handcuffed. It’s a fantastic experience that’ll leave your heart pounding from start to finish.
Pro tip:
Book your experience around the Halloween season, as this is when they’ll often offer discounted rates.
Escape Experience – Nashville Escape Games (Downtown)
– Media credit: escapeexperience_games
Address: 501 Union St.
Contact details: +1 615-891-7929
Operating hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
Cost: $34.99+
Escape Experience is the perfect example of quality over quantity: even though it only features three rooms, they’re all certified bangers! Furthermore, each room consists of multiple sections, so you’ll have no shortage of fun, scares, and cryptic puzzles to solve.
One of their rooms puts you in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, but the catch is you’re already infected. Your goal is to find the vaccine in an abandoned farmhouse before time runs out, but beware, the atmosphere in here never fails to give us the creeps!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete escape room without a prison theme, and the one found here is straight out of classic prisonbreak flicks! Here, you’ll have 60 minutes to escape before the warden returns, but you’ll have limited resources and have to rely on your wits.
Pro tip:
After surviving your escape rooms, you can head to the next-door cafe, Frothy Monkey, to enjoy comforting drinks and brunch that’ll fill your stomachs after an hour of panicking.

- Saturday: 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Extreme Escape Games is an excellent option if you want to experience the same thrills at more budget-friendly prices. Don’t be fooled by its affordable price tags, as the rooms here offer the same creative themes with exceptional attention to detail.
A prime example of this is the United Escapes of America room, which takes the action to the home office of an FBI agent gone rogue. It’s filled with cryptic puzzles, hidden easter eggs, and secrets that will help you find incriminating evidence before the agent returns.
Kids can also join in on the fun at the Candy Factory Challenge, which is one of the most colourful escape rooms we’ve ever seen in Nashville. What makes these escape rooms special, however, is the actors, who never fail to deliver realistic, sometimes creepy performances.
Pro tip:
If you’re visiting with friends and you love to get spooked, we recommend opting for the “Quarantine” map. It features a zombie outbreak theme, complete with an actor playing an undead!
Trapped Escape Game
– Media credit: trappednashville
Address: 4251 Sidco Dr.
Contact details: +1 629-800-5993
Operating hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Friday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
Cost: $34.99 to $36.00
There’s just something about horror and escape rooms that go well together, and Trapped Escape Game perfectly exploits this. For instance, Haunted Cabin looks and feels like Evil Dead, Cabin in the Woods, and countless other horror films that feature the same setting.
We also appreciate how in-depth the stories are in these rooms, like the aforementioned Haunted Cabin, which is guarded by a ghost that protects its hidden treasures. No matter which room you choose, however, you can expect great detail in the set design.
One of their attention-grabbing rooms is Shipwrecked, which features a beautifully designed 1914 ship with beautiful wooden carvings and antique decor. Meanwhile, Alcatraz pits you against your wits in the “inescapable” prison.
Pro tip:
If the haunting themes of their escape rooms left you craving comfort food, head to the nearby Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and enjoy all-day breakfast and brunch in a warm and well-preserved old diner.
