Hours: Daily 6:00AM–3:00PM
Waking up with a massive sugar craving points you straight toward this bustling downtown kitchen. Milk & Honey Gulch bakes fresh pastries daily while pressing juices from scratch to build a truly vibrant morning menu.
You get to pair these baked goods with multi-drink mimosa flights that instantly elevate a standard breakfast into a lively celebration.
I actually stopped by last Tuesday to try their renowned sweet offerings, and the incredibly fresh baked flavors completely won me over. Biting into that scratch-made dough felt like a warm hug for my taste buds.
However, note that you can’t book a table in advance. And if you don’t show up early, you’ll end up standing in an unpredictable physical waitlist line.
Plan on ordering some biscuits if it doesn’t come with your entree…they were delish! The turkey with brie sandwich was good and would have been great if the brie was a little melted instead of cold. The home fries were delicious! The spicy chicken and waffle was good, but the chicken wasn’t actually spicy. However, the waffle was nice and fluffy while the chicken was good and juicy. Be sure to either call ahead or expect a 30 minute wait as it was lunch time on a Tuesday and it was packed.

Warning on wait time, come before 10am or after 1pm if you don’t want to wait an hour.
Loved the short rib sandwich and I had to add the waffle. The flavor is like none I’ve tasted before…delish.
The latte is something I can chug all day. Their honey butter is thick and smooth, I tried it on the waffle as well. Definitely coming here again next time I visit.

2. The Liege Waffle Co.

Address: 5055 Broadway Pl #2252

Hours: Sunday to Thursday 10:00AM–10:00PM | Friday to Saturday 10:00AM–11:00PM
Finding an Asian restaurant might be easy downtown, but locating highly specific European pastries remains a rare find. Tucked inside a lively vendor complex, The Liege Waffle Co. aggressively corners the market on authentic Belgian street food.
The cooks utilize a rich yeast-based dough packed with imported European pearl sugar to create a deeply caramelized exterior crunch. That satisfying snap of crystallized sugar brings an incredibly sensory rush to every bite.
You also get to customize your own toppings over these specialty pastries, which turns a simple snack into an interactive treat.
On the downside, the menu completely revolves around this single pastry style. Hungry visitors wanting a full savory breakfast plate will have to look elsewhere.
Located inside the Assembly Food Hall. Got the North Shore, which is kalua pork over waffle, for $12. On the more expensive end since it only comes with one waffle, but taste was good – savory, sweet, hot, cold all in one bite.

We love Liege Waffle. We have had them all over and they are always amazing. There is something about the style that just make them so much better than regular waffles. A plain liege waffle warm is delicious.

3. Waffle House

Hours: Available 24/7
Anyone craving midnight comfort food will inevitably find their way to Waffle House. The kitchen here relies on a highly guarded dairy and fresh egg batter recipe that consistently hits the spot.
Despite feeding thousands of patrons daily, the cooks stubbornly mix everything in small batches to preserve that signature fluffy texture. You can totally taste that dedication to consistency when the hot plate hits the table.
My friends and I ordered a massive stack here during a late-night road trip, and that familiar savory aroma instantly woke us up. The staff easily handles massive custom orders, so everyone gets exactly what they want.
Sadly, buying their signature retail mixes online comes with frustrating drawbacks. Shoppers often encounter unexpected shipping fees at the very end of the checkout process.
I’ve been to hundreds of Waffle House locations all over the country, and I have to say this one really stands out! 😄 Without a doubt, it’s one of the most efficiently run Waffle House restaurants I’ve ever experienced. The team worked together like a perfectly organized system — there was a chef and cook on the grill, someone calling out the orders on the food line, two waiters handling the customers, and even a dedicated dishwasher keeping everything moving smoothly 👏

Great service and very clean. This Waffle House is staffed and very well run. The staff is very quick to clear tables and serve the customers. Food came out hot and served quickly. Highly recommend trying this location out.

Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles is a neighborhood staple that offers generous portions of classic Southern soul food.
The culinary team focuses on high-grade components to construct massive signature platters featuring beautifully seasoned proteins and fresh eggs.
Tearing into a perfectly fried piece of poultry right next to a fluffy batter cake creates an intensely satisfying sweet and savory collision. The kitchen clearly understands how to layer comforting regional flavors into a memorable meal.
Families looking for a budget-friendly outing will love the midweek promotions that let younger children eat for free.
But guests should keep in mind that taking advantage of the kids’ promotion requires dining inside the building. The management strictly forbids boxing up those specific discounted meals for takeout.
This place was absolutely divine! Everything we ordered was so flavorful and fresh. I got the dark meat fried chicken dinner with three sides — macaroni and cheese, rice, and green beans — plus cornbread and a Chicago waffle on the side. My mom got four sides (greens, yams, red beans, and rice), and we both loved every single bite.

EVERYTHING WAS FABULOUS! Our server, Meka, was amazing. She made great suggestions, really nice, and made sure we had everything we needed. The owner was around helping out and greeting customers, I like that!! We had chicken and waffles grits and eggs. Fish and waffle grits and eggs. Chicken dinner came with 3 sides and cornbread. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose to eat, everything was amazing. And the prices were great because the portion sizes are big. You will be FULL when you leave! I would definitely come back 10/10!!! 👍🏽

Hours: Wednesday to Thursday 10:00AM–10:00PM | Friday to Saturday 10:00AM–12:00AM | Sunday 10:00AM–8:00PM
The very heart of this vibrant eatery is about celebrating the rich heritage of African American cooking. Roasted Nashville functions beautifully as a community hub where hungry guests gather over comforting morning staples well into the evening hours.
Diners can enjoy their favorite breakfast items for dinner without worrying about restrictive midday menu changes.
The cooks here masterfully blend savory spices into their dishes to deliver a highly sensory and memorable feast. Anyone planning a sophisticated date night can easily skip the traditional fine dining restaurants and opt for this lively gathering space instead.
Just be prepared for very rigid hostess policies regarding large groups. The front staff absolutely refuses to seat incomplete parties until every single guest physically arrives at the door.
Service was great. Definitely a party vibe. Don’t go if you’re looking for a quiet brunch. Fortunately we were not! DJ was on point. Wings , rice, waffle and bacon was all good. Wife had shrimp & grits, Brussel sprouts & eggs. Very good flavor. The mimosa tower was good & the strawberry lemonade margarita was on point!!

Heard so many great things about Roasted and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was delicious! The honey butter wings, waffles, potato casserole, ribeye steak, spinach, shrimp, and grits was on point! Everything was seasoned just right and the service by our server Avi was phenomenal. We will be returning! Highly recommend!
