The 5 Best Opticals in Nashville for Your Eye Care Services

best-optical-nashville
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Diagnostic Technology: We examined the equipment each clinic uses for eye exams and health screenings. Advanced tools ensure accurate prescriptions and early detection of potential medical issues.
  •
  • Eyewear Selection: The variety and quality of available frames play a significant role in patient satisfaction. We evaluated whether locations offered unique independent brands or affordable everyday options.
  •
  • Specialized Care: Some patients require more than just a routine vision check, so we checked for niche services like custom prosthetics. Having access to specialized care often sets a practice apart from standard retailers.
  •
  • Accessibility and Insurance: We considered how easy it is to book an appointment and whether the business accepts major vision plans. Flexible hours and transparent billing practices are essential for a hassle-free visit.

Finding a great pair of glasses in Nashville can feel overwhelming with so many options around town. Whether you need a simple vision test or more specialized eye care, the choices can range widely in style and service.

To help narrow things down, we looked into several local clinics and eyewear retailers to see what they actually offer, from budget-friendly shops to high-end boutiques with custom lenses and styling services.

Here are the best spots in Music City to keep your vision clear and your eyes healthy today.

Beyond retail, they handle comprehensive exams and process Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) payments seamlessly.

Customer Reviews:

Employees are all very attentive
This location is easily the best WP store I’ve visited. It’s never crazy busy, the employees are all very attentive & kind and the store is well thought out, helping you find what you need easily. A special shout-out to one of their opticians, Ms Rebecca. She helped adjust my new frames to a perfect fit & was delightful to chat with during the process ✌🏻

This is an excellent place for eyeglasses
This is an excellent place for eyeglasses and maintenance. Every time I’ve been, the entire staff was enjoyable to interact with and professional. Special mention to Sam who went out of her way to locate a pair of discontinued frames for me. Sarah does quick and solid adjustments, and once when I was in for lenses Rebecca measured just as accurately as an AI feature they were testing, so I’ll gladly pass on the AI. I try to stop at this particular location exclusively. And you can get a great burger next door.

Customer Reviews:

Necoya was such a pleasure during my eye exam
Necoya was such a pleasure during my eye exam. Then came in Dr. Julie Lafreniere and she was wonderful as well. She talked through all of the questions I had and it was clear that she cared about what would work best for me. It felt more like a conversation than a doctors visit. I highly recommend Dr. Lafreniere.

Quality of care
Love Optique. The eyeglasses collection as well as the providers. Have been going for years. I usually see Dr Michelle and scheduled with Dr Julie this year to get an earlier appointment. Both are thorough and top notch. I haven’t found anything in broader Nashville that comes close to comparison in terms of quality of care and customer experience.

4. Look East

look-east

Website: http://lookeastnashville.com/

Address: 966 Main St

Contact: (615) 928-2281; (615) 334-8771

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Look East focuses on independent and ethically sourced frame brands. Their annual checkups automatically include advanced retinal imaging at no extra cost, helping ensure your eyes stay healthy.

They use a gentle instrument for pressure testing instead of the dreaded air puff, which many customers we spoke with appreciate.

They also spend more time with you and work with specialized lens labs to get your vision exactly right.

They even partner with local doctors to effectively handle serious medical concerns.

However, they are considered out-of-network by many insurance plans, which can lead to higher initial costs.

And since it is a small family-run business, they have fewer daily appointments available. It’s a good idea to book your visit well in advance.

Pros

  • Thorough retinal imaging technology
  • Distinct artisanal boutique frames
  • Comprehensive medical eye management
  • Hassle-free insurance reimbursement

Cons

  • Higher upfront out-of-network costs
  • Very limited weekend hours
  • Fewer available appointment slots

Customer Reviews:

The experience was great
From the moment I stepped into Look East, the experience was great. The staff were incredibly friendly, greeting me with warm smiles and an eagerness to assist. When it came to picking out frames, they were exceptionally helpful, demonstrating a keen eye for what styles suited me best. Their professionalism shone through in every aspect of their service, making the entire process a delightful experience. I highly recommend Look East to anyone seeking a personalized and enjoyable eyewear shopping experience in Nashville.

They have a fantastic selection
I have been seeing the Look East team for at least the past six years and always enjoy my visits there. Not only do they have a beautiful and welcoming office, but Dr. Burgon and the staff are always welcoming and helpful. They have a fantastic selection of unique, quality eyewear made by independent companies, which is something I really like and value.

5. Ducklo EyeCare

Establishing deep community roots, this father-son practice has provided trusted care in downtown Nashville since 1949.

Ducklo EyeCare offers specialized testing for conditions such as Binocular Vision Dysfunction and neuro-optometric rehabilitation, which go well beyond standard vision checks.

Their doctors excel at complex medical management and treat serious conditions with very advanced tools.

Families also appreciate their participation in the InfantSEE program, which offers thorough exams for babies as young as six months old.

However, navigating to this historic spot can be frustrating due to heavy traffic and limited parking.

Plus, their lack of weekend hours makes scheduling difficult for patients who cannot take time off during the busy work week.

Pros

  • Specialized infant eye exams
  • Advanced chronic dry eye treatments
  • High-tech low vision rehabilitation
  • Serious disease medical management

Cons

  • Difficult downtown parking situation
  • No Saturday or Sunday hours

Customer Reviews:

I really appreciate the care
I went to Ducklo EyeCare to get new glasses. I was very satisfied by how helpful everyone was. Especially Cidney, who worked with me to pick out the perfect frames. I really appreciate the care she exhibited, making sure the frames I tried fit well and really getting good measurements to make my progressive lens. Basically her friendliness throughout the transaction made the experience that much better.

They were amazing!
They were amazing! The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. I traveled to Nashville for a conference and left my contacts behind. They were able to work with my primary optometrist out of state to get me trial contacts for the rest of my trip. Thank you!
