Craving Indian food shouldn’t mean guessing which place will match your mood or spice level. When I searched for the best Indian restaurant in Nashville, I looked for spots that made ordering feel easy while still serving food with real flavor.
Value mattered too, since a great meal can lose its shine if the wait or bill feels frustrating.
If you’re still comparing dinner options, looking at other restaurants in Nashville can help you decide what kind of night out fits your plans.

1. Turmeric & Co

Website: turmeric-and-company.com
Address: 975 Main St
Contact: (615) 739-5037 | [email protected]
Hours: Daily 11 AM-9:30 PM
If you want Indian flavor in a quicker, more casual setting, Turmeric & Co makes sense because it blends familiar spices with modern food-hall formats.
The menu leans into bowls and tandoori salmon, but with a twist. It adds raw turmeric shots, so it feels useful for diners who want something lighter than a traditional sit-down meal.
That setup works well for mixed groups. The kitchen also has vegan and gluten-free choices. And because everything is made fresh, the food can taste bright.
However, note that orders may slow down during peak hours. The other trade-off is value. Portions can feel a little pricey for a food-hall counter, especially if you’re expecting a full restaurant plate instead of a fast-casual bowl.

Service was great!
Service was great! We got there shortly after opening, we had our order taken immediately. Food came out quickly, the bowls were aesthetically pleasing, plentiful, and absolutely delicious. The honey bee tequila cocktail was a perfect match.
What really made the difference was our server. She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of.

Nothing short of amazing
We came in and everyone was so kind and welcoming. They helped us order what we were wanting and made an exception to add chicken to the lunch special for us. It was nothing short of amazing. The flavors just burst in your mouth! We had the coconut vegetable curry with chicken and we are so full and happy. The lunch portion was even more than I could eat and came with basmati rice and a salad. Everything was exceptional. Will definitely be back! And so reasonably priced! Wow!

2. Chauhan Ale and Masala House

Website: chauhannashville.com
Address: 123 12th Ave N
Contact: (615) 242-8426
Hours: Sun-Thu 11 AM-2 PM, 4:30 PM-9:30 PM; Fri-Sat 11 AM-2 PM, 4:30 PM-10 PM
Chauhan Ale and Masala House is better for a planned night out than a quick curry stop, since the whole experience is built around Indian-Southern fusion.
The menu brings Nashville touches into familiar Indian flavors, so dishes like hot chicken pakoras feel fun without making the meal too formal.
On top of that, the spice-infused ale program gives the food a pairing angle you don’t find at most casual spots.
I love the polished dining room, which works well for date nights or visitors who want something more memorable.
The trade-off is cost. Prices run higher than those at many local Indian restaurants, and some diners who want deeply traditional heat may find the flavors more softened than expected.

Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing. Definitely worthy of Chef Maneet’s name. I enjoyed a Red Blend from Hunt Ryde (in case you don’t know, that’s Guy Fieri), and my husband got a cocktail called Almost Gothic. Both drinks were delicious. We split a few appetizers and let me tell you, the portions are not tiny! We got the Gol Guppa Shots, lamb Keenan nachos, short rib French onion naan with a Tikka Masla on the side. All was absolutely amazing and extremely flavorful. Highly recommend visiting!

Outstanding experience
Outstanding experience. We will definitely be going back to try more things. The staff was kind and welcoming. We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a blast. The flight of curry was delicious. A sample of all the house sauces with warm soft naan. Lots of lamb on the menu, but there was salmon, chicken, and paneer.

3. Honest Indian Vegetarian Restaurant

Website: honestnashvilletn.com
Address: 923 Bell Road, Antioch
Contact: (615) 541-7350 | (615) 541-7351
Hours: Mon-Thu 11 AM-10 PM; Fri-Sun 11 AM-10:30 PM
If your group is happy with a meat-free meal, Honest Indian Vegetarian Restaurant is one of the more useful stops. They focus on street-style vegetarian cooking instead of treating it like an afterthought.
The kitchen’s no-frozen approach supports dishes that taste freshly made, especially when you’re ordering chaats or pav.
It also covers Indo-Chinese plates, which helps if you want Indian food that goes beyond the usual butter chicken-style order. The Jain and Swaminarayan options make the menu easier for diners with stricter needs.
However, the same focus can limit mixed groups. Anyone looking for lamb or chicken won’t find it here. Made-from-scratch service may also move more slowly during a dinner rush.

It was our first time at Honest
It was our first time at Honest after getting a recommendation from a relative in the Dallas area. The food was very good, especially the chaat items with crisps ingredients. Paneer and curries were acceptably good. Will definitely come back to try some more of the all vegetarian menu.
Service on a quiet weekend afternoon was ok, though the waiter had to be reminded a few time for ordered dishes that weren’t served.

Incredible food, live music
Incredible food, live music, and very friendly staff. I was traveling with my brother and our flight was cancelled, eating dinner here and waiting for our next flight home was a 10/10 experience. Uncle was playing keyboard and singing, the atmosphere was elite.

4. Sindoore

Website: sindoore.com
Address: 457 Donelson Pike
Contact: (615) 401-9150
Hours: Tue-Sat 11 AM-2:30 PM, 5 PM-10 PM; Sun 12 PM-3 PM, 5 PM-9 PM
For diners who care about dietary separation, Sindoore has a helpful edge because the kitchen uses separate cookware for vegetarian and meat dishes. That can make ordering feel safer when cross-contact is a real concern.
The menu then builds on that careful kitchen setup with North Indian cooking, including tandoor-fired breads and kebabs that make a sit-down dinner feel more traditional. Regional dishes also give regulars something beyond the standard curry lineup.
The downside is the space. Seating is fairly compact, so the dining room can feel tight during busy periods, and parking may take extra patience. Service can also feel rushed near closing time, which makes it better to visit earlier if you want a relaxed meal.

Fantastic!
Omgggg, yay! Loved this place. This is on a lot of “best Indian food in Nashville” lists so I had some expectations going in. Fantastic! Everything was so good. The curries were flavorful, deep, and spicy (well, medium level spice) without losing flavor. The chicken tikka masala in particular was amazing. Left feeling way too full but worth it. If you have a big group, I’d get there early. Not a huge restaurant.

This was a nice place
This was a nice place. I did order my food to go and my food was hot. I opted for the lamb saag. Initially, I thought it didn’t have enough lamb, but it did! The dish looked a little different than I’ve had at other places, but it was still good!
It looks small inside for dining, but it’s definitely seating to stop in and enjoy a meal! I would return.

5. Taj Indian Restaurant

Website: tajnashville.com
Address: 412 Harding Pl Suite 101
Contact: (615) 750-3490 | [email protected]
Hours: Tue & Thu 10:30 AM-2:30 PM, 5 PM-9:30 PM; Wed 10:30 AM-2:30 PM, 5 PM-9 PM; Fri-Sun 10:30 AM-2:30 PM, 5 PM-10 PM
Taj Indian Restaurant is a practical choice when you want variety without making the meal feel too expensive.
The daily lunch buffet gives you room to sample more than one dish. The regular menu, on the other hand, adds South Indian dosas and Indo-Chinese plates for anyone who wants something different from basic curry.
That range is useful for family meals because people can order around spice levels and dietary needs more easily. The expanded dining room also helps when you’re feeding a larger group.
However, buffet quality can vary depending on timing, so dinner from the main menu may feel fresher. Takeout can be less smooth, too, since weekend pickup delays are a common hassle.
