Need a tune-up? Here are the 5 best bike shops in Nashville!

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Turnaround Time: We look at how fast the shop can get your bike back to you. A quick turnaround is crucial for daily commuters who cannot afford to be without their ride.

Customer Service: Friendly and knowledgeable staff make a huge difference when you need advice. We value shops that listen to your needs instead of just pushing a quick sale.

Service Guarantees: Shops that stand behind their work offer great peace of mind. We checked if they provide free adjustments or warranties on new purchases.

Brand Selection: Having access to reliable, high-quality bike frames helps casual weekend cruisers and competitive racers find exactly what fits their riding style.

Pricing Transparency: Nobody likes surprise fees when picking up a repaired bike. We prioritized shops that offer free estimates and clear pricing before any work is done.

There’s nothing quite like a smooth, effortless ride. But hearing your gears crunch, slip, or squeak halfway through a morning commute or weekend trail run can quickly kill your momentum.

If you have a neglected bike, joy rides quickly turn into a heavy, greasy burden. If you want to keep things rolling smoothly, you need a reliable local mechanic on your side, similar to having an auto parts supplier on call for your car.

Our team hit the pavement to find the best bike shops in Nashville to help you find the most trustworthy repair crews in the city. Read on!

1. Shelby Ave. Bicycle Co.

shelby-ave-bicycle-co

Website: https://shelbybicycle.com/

Address: 1629 Shelby Avenue

Contact: (615) 924-3274

Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri 10:00  AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sun 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Operating out of a restored 1930s grocery building in East Nashville, Shelby Ave. Bicycle Co. backs up every bike and gear purchase with a strict price-match guarantee.

That same transparency applies directly to their service bay; you walk out knowing exactly what to pay because the mechanics promise never to charge for unapproved work.

Plus, every new bicycle comes with a 90-day service guarantee. From what we’ve seen, they fulfill that promise by prioritizing fast, accessible maintenance. If your commuter needs a minor adjustment, they can usually do a quick 15-minute fix while you wait.

Beyond repairs, the shop also runs guided electric bike tours across the city.

The main drawback is that the sales floor heavily favors motorized options. Since the inventory leans so into these battery-powered rides, tracking down a high-end traditional road bike can take some digging.

You also won’t spot major labels like Specialized or Giant on the racks.

Pros

  • Strict price-match guarantee
  • 90-day service guarantee on new bikes
  • While-you-wait 15-minute fixes
  • Guided city e-bike tours

Cons

  • Inventory heavily favors e-bikes
  • High-end traditional road bikes are scarce and limited brand selection

Customer Reviews

Five star service!
Blake was very helpful on my request to repair my old bike.  I was so impressed that I bought an electric bike.  Don’t buy from the internet or the chain stores.  Buy from the pro’s! Five star service!

I love it!
I had just found the Aventon Saltera online but wanted to test drive and check it out in person. They had it in stock, in my size and desired color. Blake was super helpful in giving an honest assessment of the ebike and other options to ensure it met my needs. Gabriel did a great job prepping it so I was ready to roll. I love it! So much better to be able to ride off with it than to order online, wait for shipping and have to assemble.

2. Trace Bikes

trace-bikes

Website: https://tracebikes.com/

Address: 8068 Highway 100

Contact: (615) 646-2485 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Tues-Fri 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sun 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Located just steps from the Natchez Trace Parkway, Trace Bikes lets riders test their freshly tuned gears immediately on scenic back roads. They also make maintaining that peak performance incredibly affordable.

Frequent riders often choose the subscription plans here for unlimited bike adjustments rather than per-visit charges. The shop also guarantees its pricing by matching any lower cost found at a local brick-and-mortar competitor.

In the repair center, the mechanics work on every make and model. That versatility means you never have to wonder if they can handle your specific setup.

We were just a bit disappointed to find that the sales floor carries a more restricted selection of new bicycles.

Also, note that the unlimited maintenance plan applies to just one specific bicycle. This means riders with a larger garage can’t share the coverage across multiple bikes.

Pros

  • Unlimited adjustment subscription plans
  • Local price-matching promise
  • Prime location near scenic trails
  • Full-service center for all brands

Cons

  • Subscriptions limited to one bike
  • Restricted selection of new bicycles

Customer Reviews

Very happy with the staff and my new bike!!
Great store to find just the bike for you!  I drove an hour to get an Electra cruiser bike from this store and was very happy with the process.  Ordered the bike and it was ready within 4 days.  They explained the warranty and that adjustments were free the first year of ownership.  Very happy with the staff and my new bike!!

Been recommending Trace Bikes to everyone I know
Ben aint there anywhere, but its still the best shop. Ben is the man.  Absolutely amazing person. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I have been recommending Trace Bikes to everyone I know. I will not take my bike anywhere else or buy from another local bike store other than Trace Bikes.  The prices are fair and not over inflated and the service is top of the line.  Give Ben a shout out and a raise.  He deserves both.

3. Ride615 Bicycle Shop

ride615-bicycle-shop

Website: https://www.ride615.com/

Address: 4511 Charlotte Avenue

Contact: (615) 922-6511 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Tues-Fri 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Ride615 Bicycle Shop stands out for lifetime free adjustments on any bicycle purchased directly from them.

That long-term value is perfectly matched by everyday convenience. With their three locations spread across the Nashville metro area, dropping off your commuter bike or grabbing new riding gear fits easily into a busy schedule.

Plus, the staff here listens to your typical routes and riding habits to recommend the right frame geometry or a precise saddle adjustment.

Just note that finding your perfect fit means exploring a more specialized inventory. If you’re hunting for specific major brands like Trek or Specialized, you’ll need to check another store.

With these missing from their lineup, you lose out on test-riding some of the most widely reviewed frames and proprietary parts.

Additionally, their rental fleet also heavily favors mountain bikes built for the trails. There are fewer options if you just want to rent a casual city cruiser for the afternoon.

Pros

  • Lifetime free adjustments on purchases
  • Three convenient Nashville locations
  • Personalized fitting and saddle adjustments
  • Diverse inventory of global brands

Cons

  • Does not carry Trek or Specialized
  • Rental options mostly mountain bikes
  • Misses out on widely reviewed proprietary parts

The best bike shop in Nashville
Hands down the best bike shop in Nashville. Vinny and the boys are the friendliest and most knowledgeable crew I have worked with in years. Experts and honest about all products and will work to get you exactly what you need whether you bought it from them or have to go elsewhere to get it. I drive across town just to take my bikes here and work with them.

Will definitely be back for any bicycle needs in the future
I’m so glad I found this place. My bicycle wheel wasn’t aligned so I took it in. Vinny was friendly and so informative. He fixed it the same day! He helped me understand what was wrong and how to fix it in the future. He also pumped air into my tires and made sure the brakes were working well. It’s riding perfectly now, and I’m so happy. I will definitely be back for any bicycle needs in the future.

4. Trail & Fitness Bicycles

trail-fitness-bicycles

Website: https://www.tf.bike/

Address: 5133 Harding Pike, Suite A6

Contact: (615) 499-4634 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Tues-Fri 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Rather than simply claiming to support all riders, Trail & Fitness Bicycles actually guides first-timers on their maiden mountain-bike voyage through local parks. That welcoming approach scales all the way up to the pro level.

Their inventory also supports competitive cyclists, featuring premium frames from highly sought-after brands like Specialized and Cervelo.

Of course, taking home that kind of top-tier engineering usually requires a pretty serious budget.

Because the sales floor focuses strictly on these top-tier names, you won’t find budget-friendly, entry-level department store bikes here. You may have to use your credit card for your purchase.

On the bright side, to make these high-end setups more accessible, the shop provides flexible Klarna financing at checkout.

Just a heads up: although the store advertises free shipping on orders over $100, this perk excludes oversized items like fully assembled bicycles. You’ll still need to pick up a new ride in person or cover heavy freight fees to get it home.

Pros

  • Guides first-timers on local trail rides
  • Carries premium brands like Specialized and Cervelo
  • Offers flexible Klarna financing options
  • Supports competitive cyclists with high-end inventory

Cons

  • Lacks budget-friendly entry-level bikes
  • Free shipping excludes assembled bikes

A shop with a great mindset

Great people, made NBD awesome. A shop with a great mindset. Helpful and knowledgeable. Willing to listen and suggest good options. I bought from out of town not knowing the shop at all. They made it easy and no stress. Look forward to visiting again soon!

Everything could not have gone smoother

I rented a mountain bike for the Easter weekend and everything could not have gone smoother. The bike itself was great. Full suspension bike from Pivot. George provided some good information about local trails. My wife and I had a blast. Highly recommend.

5. Sun Bicycles Nashville

sun-bicycles-nashville

Website: https://sunbicyclesnashville.com/

Address: 2804-B Elm Hill Pike

Contact: (615) 889-5000 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Sat 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (By Appointment Only)

Sun Bicycles Nashville focuses exclusively on adult tricycles and recumbent bikes, making local paved trails accessible to seniors and riders managing balance or mobility challenges.

Because adaptive riding requires a highly personalized fit, buying a trike here involves an in-person, 90-minute appointment.

During this session, mechanics make precise ergonomic adjustments to your leg length and backrest angle, allowing you to test different models to ensure complete comfort before you buy.

The main drawback is that the showroom operates strictly by appointment, so you can’t just walk in off the street to browse.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a standard two-wheeled road or mountain bike, you’ll need to look elsewhere. This shop is completely dedicated to adaptive cycling options.

Pros

  • Specializes exclusively in recumbent trikes
  • Provides personalized 90-minute fittings
  • Supports physical therapy and mobility recovery
  • Thorough try-before-you-buy demo experience

Cons

  • Strictly appointment-only showroom
  • Doesn’t sell traditional two-wheelers
