Finding a reliable tailor in Nashville resembles dating. You often have to endure a few mismatches and misswipes (or ruin a few pairs of expensive slacks) before you find the one you can trust with your life, or at least your wedding day.
I used to think “off the rack” was good enough. Then I saw a photo of myself in a blazer that fit like a tent and realized: the fit, not the price tag, makes the outfit.
Finding someone in Music City who can wield a needle without butchering your garments is tougher than finding a quiet spot on Broadway on a Saturday night. Once you find the right one, you hold onto them.
Professionals needing a sharp boardroom look, brides stressing over hemlines, or anyone wanting new jeans to sit right will find that the right hands make all the difference. I’ve scoured the city to find the best tailors in Nashville that get the fit right the first time.
How much does tailoring cost in Nashville?
Prices here have crept up, but you generally get what you pay for.
For basics like hemming jeans, expect to pay the price of a decent lunch, usually between $15 and $25.
If you need a suit jacket taken in or sleeves shortened, expect to pay a bit more, often $35 to $60 per area.
For custom work where they build a suit from scratch, you shift from repair to investment. Those projects typically start around $1,000-$1,500 and climb depending on the fabric you choose.
1. Stitch-It & Co.

Website: https://stitchitandco.com/
Address: 4101 Hillsboro Circle
Contact: (615) 292-3008
Hours: Mon-Thurs 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Stitch-It & Co. feels less like a standard repair shop and more like a classic gentleman’s lounge.
They handle high-end alterations that other shops often avoid. The team works on complex materials and custom styling, often handling suits that require extreme precision.
I stopped by to ask about a vintage blazer I worried about ruining. The staff immediately identified the fabric structure and explained how they would handle it.
This efficiency shows how clearly they understand their trade.
The only downside to this quality is the wait time. Because they are meticulous, you typically won’t see your items for about 3-4 weeks. This shop favors precision over speed, and for quality, it is hard to beat.
Customer Reviews:
Would definitely recommend
First impressions of the employees, they were very cordial and professional. The atmosphere in the shop is very pleasant and maintains that classic look quite well.
I went in to have a pair of slacks adjusted from where a previous tailor from another shop had messed up. They fixed them within in a day! Would definitely recommend. Thank you all!

I have had multiple blazers, pants and more altered here
Exceptional alterations and custom tailoring for men’s and women’s clothing. I have had multiple blazers, pants and more altered here. They have handled, with ease, even the most difficult materials and alterations that I have needed.
They have hundreds of fabric swatches for custom made items as well.
Reasonably priced. Turn around time is typically about 3-4 weeks, however, they have been able to do a much quicker turnaround time when needed.
Highly recommend

2. Green Hills Seamstress

Website: https://www.greenhillsseamstress.com/
Address: 3706 Hillsboro Pike
Contact: (615) 385-3468
Hours:
- Tue-Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sat 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
When you need speed and clever solutions, Green Hills Seamstress delivers. Efficiency and creative fixes define their approach to garment problems.
They save the day during those panic moments when you realize a dress needs hemming just days before an event.
More importantly, they rarely say “no” to tricky repairs, opting to find a way to make it work. This often saves garments that looked like lost causes.
Keep their location in mind. Since they sit right off Hillsboro Pike, parking can be a headache during peak hours. You might have to circle to find a spot. However, the staff is brisk and friendly once you are inside.
Choose them for day-to-day repairs when you need professional results without the pomp and circumstance of a bespoke shop.
Customer Reviews:
Would definitely recommend and would go back too!
They did a wonderful job. I had to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed and the straps tightened. It looks beautiful! I also had only a week for them to get it done, and they had it ready an day earlier than I asked! Would definitely recommend and would go back too!

This will now be my go-to seamstress!
I brought in a jacket and a pair of jeans both missing a button. They didn’t have extra buttons for my jacket but instead offered to remove buttons on my jacket for show and place them where my bottoms were missing. They were so quick and accommodating. I needed them next day and their rush fee was not even expensive. This will now be my go-to seamstress!

However, this isn’t the place to drop off a pair of jeans for a quick patch. The shop operates strictly by appointment only.
Though this exclusivity guarantees full attention, it adds a barrier if you have a chaotic schedule.

Will be buying all of my formal wear from him going forward
Working with Eric for my first ever suit was such an exciting and thoughtful process. Eric went above and beyond to come up with and beautifully tailor a suit I love, and provided helpful advice and explanations behind the design process. Will be buying all of my formal wear from him going forward.

In terms of quality, price, efficiency, and fitting, Eric Adler cannot be beat
Eric is an absolute pro and knows how to make a killer suit. He also gets it done quickly. My brothers and I have been to other suit shops in the area and in terms of quality, price, efficiency, and fitting, Eric Adler cannot be beat. He also makes it an enjoyable and exciting process coming in to get the fitting and tailoring. Easy in and easy out.

4. Richards Bespoke

Address: 1254 Martin Street
Contact: (615) 669-6845
Hours: By Appointment Only
Richards Bespoke turns the fitting process into a luxury. Stephen Richards has built a reputation for making appointments feel less like a chore and more like an event.
They offer a deep level of customization. You can select custom liners, buttons, and stitching details you didn’t even know existed, allowing for a suit that is entirely unique to you.
Weddings or big life events where every detail matters fit this shop well. On top of that, the vibe is incredibly professional but relaxed, so you never feel intimidated.
However, like other high-end spots, this is an “Appointment Only” establishment. It is heavily geared toward custom suits and tuxedos.
If you are just looking for general clothing maintenance, you might want to look elsewhere.
Customer Reviews:
Best tailor in Nashville!

I couldn’t recommend Richard’s Bespoke enough!
Stephen Richards is incredibly professional. We had the most memorable time getting my 4 year old son fitted for my now husband and I’s wedding. He was so knowledgeable about all of the details, and was so patient with our son as we made our liner selection (he chose a super hero theme, of course!).
I couldn’t recommend Richard’s Bespoke enough! What a joyful experience that we will always remember and cherish!

5. Only One Tailoring

Website: https://www.onlyonetailoring.com/
Address: 2506 8th Avenue
Contact: (615) 209-9096
Hours: Mon-Fri 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Only One Tailoring handles a versatile range of jobs.
While they do standard alterations, they work with difficult fabrics like leather and bridal gowns. A lot of places won’t touch a leather jacket because one wrong stitch ruins the hide, but Only One embraces it.
They even fix mistakes made by other tailors, effectively functioning as the “emergency room” for clothing disasters.
I had a leather jacket with a busted zipper that I took to them recently. They replaced it so cleanly you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t the original zipper. It’s not easy to find such seamless repair work just anywhere.
Just be aware that because they are so popular for bridal and complex work, they can get very busy. You might feel a bit rushed during peak wedding season, but the quality of the work is worth it.
Customer Reviews:
The quality of their work is top notch!
Amazing customer service! I had a pair of jeans that I needed to pick up sooner than expected and they were kind enough to accommodate me. I live in Georgia but only take my clothes here as the quality of their work is top notch!

Only One is a fantastic Tailor
Only One is a fantastic Tailor. Very helpful and friendly staff. Top quality of work as well. I had a zipper replaced on a leather jacket, and you can’t even see where they removed the original zipper to install the new one. Works great too! Would highly recommend.
