The 5 Best Personal Trainers in Nashville That Are Worth the Sweat

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Training Philosophy: We focused on long-term health. We looked for studios that prioritize sustainable and functional movement rather than yelling at you to do more burpees until you collapse.

Trainer Qualifications: We looked for studios that appear to prioritize professional standards and expertise. But we always recommend verifying your specific trainer's background before booking.

Facility Atmosphere: We assessed whether the gym feels like a welcoming community or an intimidating club where you need to look perfect before you even sweat. The vibe should be encouraging for all levels and all ages.

Flexibility & Access: Convenience is key to consistency. We checked if the business offers convenient scheduling, such as early morning slots or 24/7 key fob access, to fit a busy professional's life.

Client Customization: We prioritized services that build a unique roadmap for your body and goals instead of handing out a cookie-cutter PDF program. Your workout should be tailored to your specific needs.

Nashville might be the capital of hot chicken, but the local fitness scene is intense.

If you are like me, you have probably signed up for a big-box gym with the best of intentions, only to find yourself using the membership card as a coaster while eating a second biscuit.

But when you decide it is time to actually undo the damage, the volume of options paralyzes you.

Sifting through endless Instagram ads and vague website promises becomes a workout in itself. You don’t need another rental locker.

You need a coach who will ensure you don’t quit when the alarm goes off at 5 AM. We analyzed the local market to find the spots that offer real accountability.

Here are the best personal trainers in Nashville to help you finally hit those goals.

How much does personal training cost in Nashville?

If you want one-on-one attention in Music City, be ready to invest a bit more than a standard gym membership.

Rates for personal training fluctuate based on the exclusivity of the studio and the experience level of the coach.

Expect $60-$125/hour for private sessions or $25-$45 for small groups, depending on the trainer’s experience.

Choose a private suite for exclusivity, or share the floor to save on session costs.

1. MUVFit Personal Training

muvfit-personal-training-logo

Website: https://muvfit.com/

Address: 6953 Charlotte Pike, Suite 301

Contact: (615) 530-8999 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Mon-Thurs 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Fri 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

MUVFit avoids the bodybuilder’s dungeon vibe. Prioritizing “fitness evolution” and longevity creates a distinct atmosphere. You won’t feel out of place here even if you haven’t touched a weight in years.

Their programming cycles change every six weeks to keep muscles guessing and prevent mid-year burnout.

Plus, their semi-private and small group sessions encourage a genuine sense of community where members actually know each other’s names. This approach ensures you aren’t just burning calories but building a sustainable foundation.

However, this is not a place for ego lifting. If you strictly want 100% private attention without anyone else around, the small group model might feel a bit crowded for your taste. Train here to prioritize moving well for the rest of your life.

Pros

  • Focuses on functional longevity
  • Programs cycle every 6 weeks
  • Strong community atmosphere
  • Great for beginners and aging adults

Cons

  • Limited open gym hours
  • A small group isn’t 100% private
  • Premium pricing structure

The best investment in my well-being journey to date!

I started using MUVFit Personal Training in July of 2024, and it has been the best investment in my well-being journey to date!  The entire team is very supportive, knowledgeable, and have a passion for supporting your personal fitness and nutrition goals.  Now, each day I look forward to being 1% better on my fitness journey and really enjoy my time at the gym with my coaches and trainers.

We love our Muvfit gym and team!

My husband and I and our son have been Muvfit members for over two years. We attend group classes which are pleasantly small and no matter what age or fitness level you are the trainers help and encourage you through it. Daniel, the owner is always striving to improve all areas and each and every staff member/trainer is professional, motivating and really just first class individuals. The level of accountability and knowledge each member receives is phenomenal. We love our Muvfit gym and team!

2. 360 Fitness Coaching

Website: https://www.360fitcoach.com/

Address: 3744 Annex Ave A3

Contact: (615) 669-0626 | [email protected]

Schedule:

  • Mon-Thurs 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Fri 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Fitness and nutrition are integrated into one affordable package here.

Interestingly, their small group training caps at 4 people. This gives clients the lower cost of a class, but the oversight of a private session.

Our team stopped by to see how this dynamic works, and the energy is infectious without being chaotic. Trainers modify exercises on the fly so you don’t feel left behind if you have a nagging injury.

You receive the camaraderie of a class without getting lost in the crowd. This effectively bridges the gap between expensive personal coaching and generic fitness classes.

But because the schedule revolves around these small group slots, you have less flexibility than you would at a 24/7 facility. Nevertheless, this model offers the structure many clients need to stay consistent week after week.

Pros

  • Affordable small group model
  • Caps classes at 4 people
  • Includes nutrition support
  • Modifications for all levels

Cons

  • No 24/7 gym access
  • Fixed class schedules
  • Less privacy than 1-on-1
  • Closed on Sundays

Provides excellent classes throughout the day

360 Fitness provides excellent classes throughout the day, which is great for my busy schedule.

The regimen is varied and hits all muscle groups, as well as supports health at all ages and comfort levels. The entire coaching staff are knowledgeable, kind, and will meet the energy that you bring!

I came in to launch into my 30s with a strong start, but in the last year of classes there are days I feel stronger and more flexible than I was in my early 20s.

Incredible trainers

Professional and fun, encouraging and personal is how I would describe the incredible trainers. I have been attending 360 Fitness for almost 2 years and am getting stronger, making new friends, seeing my old friends and for someone who doesn’t really enjoy working out, I have to say that I (mostly) enjoy my 50 minutes twice a week. Each month the exercises change so they keep it fresh for us.  There is a maximum of only 4 clients per trainer so it is very personalized. The gym is clean and parking is convenient.

3. Roots Fitness

Website: https://trainrootsfitness.com/

Address: 3706 Hillsboro Pike, Ste 3

Contact: (601) 218-8555 | [email protected]

Schedule: Daily 5:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Strength training by Roots Fitness addresses past injuries and chronic pain directly. Their rehabilitation techniques blend with strength conditioning, meaning you tackle that back tweak that’s been bothering you for years while breaking a sweat.

Trainers here obsess over form to ensure you engage the right muscles before adding weight. You effectively receive the clinical attention of therapy combined with the intensity of a weight room.

More importantly, their team prioritizes education, teaching you why your body moves the way it does, rather than just counting reps.

Keep in mind, though, that the location on Hillsboro Pike complicates parking during peak rush hours, so plan accordingly or arrive a few minutes early to secure a spot.

If you want a trainer who acts almost like a physical therapist while helping you lift heavy, this is the place.

Pros

  • Expert injury management
  • Blends rehab with strength
  • Highly personalized plans
  • Knowledgeable owner and staff

Cons

  • Smaller facility size
  • Parking can be tricky
  • Not a “big box” gym vibe
  • Limited evening hours

I highly recommend anyone who wants to improve their fitness to visit Roots

I have truly enjoyed my time at Roots.  Hamzah, is a great trainer and really cares in his clients improvement.  He has the rare personality that can both push and encourage at the right levels.  I highly recommend anyone who wants to improve their fitness to visit Roots, regardless of your current fitness level.

Lifting more than I thought my old body could handle.

I came to Roots fitness with fairly severe back issues, very painful plantar fasciitis, and a body recovering from three back to back C-sections and pregnancies. Within three months, I was pain-free on all fronts and am lifting more than I thought my old body could handle. I would recommend this practice too anyone including people who thought their very athletic days were behind them.

Completely transformed my relationship with exercise + food.

I’ve been training at NLF with Brittany since July and she has completely transformed my relationship with exercise + food. I’m consistently being pushed beyond what I ever thought I could do. I cannot recommend her enough! The gym is also great and the environment from the second you walk in is so welcoming and friendly. I feel encouragement from not just Britt, but all of the other trainers / clients in there as well. 🙂
