The 5 Best Optometrists in Nashville That Won’t Rush Your Eye Exam

best-optometrist-nashville
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Service Range: Optometrists made the cut if they offer comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and tailored eyewear solutions. Clinics that handle disease screening and glaucoma tests also stood out.

Pricing & Packages: Affordability matters, so we prioritized providers with competitive exam rates and transparent pricing structures. We looked for clinics offering eyewear bundles or broad insurance acceptance to help patients save money.

Specialist Approach: Each practice needed to show how well they handle specialized needs such as nearsightedness (myopia) management and dry eye care. Facilities equipped for advanced eye disease detection really shined as top choices.

Location & Accessibility: Nobody wants a long commute, so we focused on clinics situated conveniently throughout the city to ensure easy travel. Practices offering simple appointment booking systems and accessible parking areas easily earned high marks.

Staff Credentials: You want to know you’re in good hands. That’s why we verified that each featured clinic employs licensed optometrists with proven experience in patient care. This confirmed their expertise in vision correction and long-term eye health management.

There’s nothing quite as frustrating as sitting in a cold, clinical waiting room for an hour, only to be rushed through a five-minute eye exam where the doctor barely learns your name.

Blurry vision and frequent headaches are bad enough on their own. You shouldn’t have to deal with the added stress of finding an eye doctor who actually listens.

Finding the right spot among all the clinics scattered across the city takes time, so I set out to find the best optometrists in Nashville for you.

Through careful comparison, I evaluated the top local clinics for professionals who deliver accurate prescriptions, handle chronic issues like dry eye, and genuinely care about your visual health.

Say goodbye to the corporate rush. Read on to discover which of these local eye doctors fits your specific lifestyle and medical needs.

Address: 2416 21st Avenue South

Contact: (615) 321-4393

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Walking into a doctor’s office often feels a bit cold. Optique changes that by offering a boutique eye care experience that steps entirely away from the rushed corporate model. You receive tailored treatments for complex vision issues in a relaxed setting.

I spoke with a friend who visited their dry eye center recently. She loved how the doctors took their time and never made her feel hurried. Plus, they use the latest diagnostic tools to give you incredibly accurate eye exams.

After your appointment, you can easily browse a huge selection of designer frames. If you recently visited an aesthetic clinic for a facial refresh, updating your glasses here is a great way to complete your look.

Just keep your budget in mind. Focusing strictly on premium services and high-end frames means you’ll likely spend more out-of-pocket than you would at a standard retail chain.

Pros

  • Houses a dedicated dry eye center
  • Extensive selection of designer frames
  • Unhurried, personalized consultations
  • Uses advanced diagnostic technology

Cons

  • Higher out-of-pocket price point
  • Focuses primarily on premium services
  • May not suit tight budgets

Customer Reviews

Highly recommend
Necoya was such a pleasure during my eye exam. Then came in Dr. Julie Lafreniere and she was wonderful as well. She talked through all of the questions I had and it was clear that she cared about what would work best for me. It felt more like a conversation than a doctors visit. I highly recommend Dr. Lafreniere.

Haven’t found anything in broader Nashville that comes close
Love Optique. The eyeglasses collection as well as the providers. Have been going for years. I usually see Dr Michelle and scheduled with Dr Julie this year to get an earlier appointment. Both are thorough and top notch. I haven’t found anything in broader Nashville that comes close to comparison in terms of quality of care and customer experience.

2. Dr. Kelli Jackson

Booking medical appointments weeks in advance is rarely easy for busy families. Dr. Kelli Jackson solves this by providing accessible, family-oriented vision care with the convenience of same-day, walk-in visits.

You get quality clinical expertise right inside a modern retail space. They also offer specialized pediatric care in a welcoming environment, making it easier to get your kids to the eye doctor.

We like how the team uses advanced digital imaging to catch potential eye issues early on. It’s also a huge plus that the clinic accepts a wide variety of major vision insurance plans, making it easier to maximize your benefits.

Naturally, all this convenience comes at a cost. Since her office sits inside a larger retail store, you won’t get the quiet, private atmosphere you usually find in a standalone clinic.

Pros

  • Accommodates walk-in and same-day visits
  • Accepts a wide variety of vision insurance
  • Offers specialized pediatric eye care
  • Utilizes advanced digital imaging technology

Cons

  • Located inside a busy retail store

Took the time to understand my existing eye health
Dr. Kelli Jackson was great! Excellent experience. The exam was very thorough, and with this being my first time at the office, she really took the time to understand my existing eye health and made necessary changes to my prescription. The staff was well organized and kind during my visit. I didn’t feel rushed at any point and there was no wait before my appointment. I felt confident in the care of Dr. Jackson and will definitely return for my annual exam!

Highly recommend her!
My family and I have been receiving care from Dr. Kelli Jackson for about 20 years, and she has always been exceptional. She is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and patient, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all our questions. Dr. Jackson is also very pleasant, making every visit a comfortable and stress-free experience. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor, combined with her genuine care for her patients, truly set her apart. If you’re looking for a skilled, compassionate, and personable optometrist, I highly recommend her!

I personally visited this clinic last year to deal with a sudden astigmatism flare-up. The treatment plan they put together completely solved the issue. As a busy professional, I loved the flexible scheduling, especially the early morning slots.

Very satisfied by how helpful everyone was
I went to Ducklo EyeCare to get new glasses. I was very satisfied by how helpful everyone was. Especially Cidney, who worked with me to pick out the perfect frames. I really appreciate the care she exhibited, making sure the frames I tried fit well and really getting good measurements to make my progressive lens. Basically her friendliness throughout the transaction made the experience that much better.

Eye care and high fashion rarely cross paths, but this East Nashville spot proves that staying healthy can look amazing. Look East merges comprehensive medical eye care with a carefully curated gallery of unique eyewear from independent global designers.

Even the clinical side of their practice is just as impressive as the retail space. The doctors here use advanced Optomap imaging to check the overall health of your retina.

Love this place
Been to many eye clinics over the years. This is by far my favorite. Diedra was was great and got me set up quick. Dr. Brasfield is thorough and takes the time to answer questions with care. Finally, (missed his name) who helped with contacts/glasses was so passionate. Knew everything about frames and honestly was great to chat with. Love this place. Please never leave East.

I would 💯 recommend them for your eyecare needs!
I am so glad I came across Look East! I haven’t had an eye exam in forever. Everyone there was so nice and made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in the door! They have a beautiful collection of frames and do such a good job of helping you pick out frames with a wide range of pricing! I would 💯 recommend them for your eyecare needs!
