Dance the Night Away at the Best Nightclubs in Nashville

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Music and Atmosphere: We evaluated the audio quality and the general vibe of the crowd. A great club needs an energetic dance floor and professional-grade sound systems.

Cover Charges and Pricing: We compared entry fees against the overall quality of the entertainment provided. Venues offering free entry or reasonable drink prices scored higher on our list.

Layout and Amenities: We examined the physical space to see if it accommodates both dancing and relaxing. Clubs featuring separate lounge areas or outdoor patios offer a superior guest experience.

Crowd and Accessibility: We noted how welcoming each venue is to diverse groups of people. A top-tier destination should feel safe and inclusive for every patron.

Wait Times and Service: We looked at how fast bartenders serve drinks during peak hours. Efficient service prevents guests from spending half their night stuck at the bar.

Looking for the best nightclubs in Nashville? You’re not alone. Most visitors immediately head to the crowded honky-tonks on Broadway, but I’ve spent years navigating the downtown party scene, figuring out exactly where the real action happens.

Finding a fantastic place to dance usually means venturing slightly off the beaten path. You want great music, strong drinks, and a crowd that matches your energy.

This guide skips the generic tourist traps and highlights the top spots guaranteed to deliver an unforgettable night out in Music City.

And if on some nights you feel like singing instead of dancing, you can head to these top karaoke bars instead.

Skipping the typical downtown cover charge is a massive relief. La Danse Nashville Nightclub lets you walk right in and enjoy Latin vibes and 90s rhythm and blues (R&B) without paying a premium. I visited last Tuesday and immediately noticed the authentic local energy.

The layout smoothly transitions from a full-service restaurant into a high-energy dance floor. You can easily reserve specific party zones like the stage area to feel directly involved in the action. They also feature a dedicated hookah bar for patrons who prefer a relaxed social setting.

Just know that the venue is a few blocks away from the main tourist strip. You have to take a short detour off Broadway to find it. They also enforce a strict dress code that requires upscale attire instead of casual jeans.

Pros

  • Open daily until 3 AM
  • No cover charge required
  • Integrated restaurant service
  • Dedicated hookah lounge area

Cons

  • Strict upscale dress code
  • Located off the main strip
  • Expensive VIP table deposits

This was my first time coming to La Danse, and it was everything I wanted and more. I came during happy hour with a friend and i had a blast good drinks and great music. Erin was the best bartender ever 10/10 service very attentive and so pretty. Will be back again.

La Danese was amazing I came by myself around 6 something and they have a special deal 4 for 1 drink special between 6-7 and $15hookah from 6 -10 pm can’t get any better than that and the service was wonderful I recommend 10/10 pull up.

2. Night We Met

Hours: Thu: 8:00 pm – 1:00 am; Fri – Sat: 8:00 pm – 3:00 am

Audiophiles looking for flawless sound should stop their search here. Night We Met focuses entirely on house and techno music. They bring in top-tier electronic disk jockeys (DJs) from around the world.

Electronic music fans will appreciate the professional-grade Void Acoustics sound system. The audio clarity makes the bass heavy and crisp.

They operate as a multi-room environment. Guests can dance in the high-energy main room or grab a drink inside the sophisticated Vera Lounge. The modern design features immersive lighting that feels vastly different from typical rustic bars.

That said, the strict genre focus means you will not hear popular top 40 hits. Patrons should also prepare for premium drink prices and mandatory cover charges at the door.

Pros

  • High-end sound system
  • Dual-room versatile layout
  • Immersive modern lighting
  • Curated electronic artist lineups

Cons

  • Premium cover charges
  • Strict genre-specific music

This was a very nice venue!! I saw Hayden James here and all the music was very good. The dance floor is a nice size and there’s a couple bars. The restrooms are also nice and well kept. I would come back for more concerts here.

Nashville has an elevated EDM dance club and it is Night We Met! Featuring 2 stages: the lounge and club room: the decor, sound system and vibes are spot on. I’ve seen major DJs there and appreciate the open deck nights that also provides local newbies a chance to develop their skill. All in all, NWM is always a good time and a place to let it go on the dance floor.

3. Play Dance Bar

Address: 1519 Church St. Nashville, TN 37203

Hours: Wed, Thu, Sun: 8:00 pm – 2:00 am; Fri – Sat: 8:00 pm – 3:00 am

Finding a place that caters to multiple moods can save your evening. Play Dance Bar offers a fantastic dual-zone entertainment layout. You get a massive dance floor on one side and a drag performance theater on the other. I went there for my birthday last year and loved switching between the DJ sets and the sit-down shows.

This venue allows patrons ages 18 and up to enter. It provides a rare late-night option for younger crowds wanting a safe space to celebrate.

You can easily spend hours exploring the connected sister bars next door. If you want a break from dancing, check out some local bowling instead.

On the downside, the venue packs out quickly during weekend nights. You will likely experience long lines and a highly congested dance floor. They also require cash for the door cover charge, which forces many people to use the expensive on-site automated teller machines (ATMs).

Pros

  • Professional resident drag shows
  • Distinct dual-environment layout
  • Accessible to patrons 18+
  • Award-winning dance atmosphere

Cons

  • Frequently reaches maximum capacity
  • Cash-only entry requirement

Fun night out with some friends. Half of the bar is a drag bar and the other half is a dancing club. The drag queens were fierce! Also, it was nice that my friend lost her wallet and when we called the next day they had it!

So went Thursday and Friday but the 1st night I left my card at the hotel. I had a hard time trying to add my card to my wallet so Ariel allowed me to cash app the money directly to her for my drinks. She was kind and patient. Can’t wait to come by

4. Tribe

Hours: Wed – Thu: 3:00 pm – 1:00 am; Fri -Sat: 10:30 am – 2:00 am; Sun: 12:00 pm – 1:00 am

Gathering for interactive events builds a strong local crowd. Tribe serves as an inclusive community hub with an elevated video bar atmosphere. Screens stream music videos across the room to create a lively environment.

Patrons gather here for trivia nights and the famous Sunday showtunes sing-alongs. I can say that the owners successfully created an approachable space for a diverse crowd.

This establishment operates directly adjacent to Play Dance Bar. You can start the night here with pub food and drinks before walking next door to party.

However, the internal layout prioritizes lounge seating over open space. You will find very limited room for actual dancing compared to larger venues nearby. The building also becomes heavily congested on weekends as people gather here before heading to other clubs.

Pros

  • Diverse interactive weeknight events
  • Connected to adjacent venues
  • Inclusive and approachable atmosphere
  • Full on-site food menu

Cons

  • Limited interior dance space
  • Extreme weekend peak congestion

Tribe has the absolute best vibes—chill, elevated, and full of energy all at once. The music was on point all night, setting the perfect tone for a fun, stylish crowd. Whether you’re sipping cocktails or just soaking in the scene, Tribe delivers a vibe you won’t forget.

Great local bar. More mature than Play and very laid back. Plenty of space for dancing and the bar staff was cute and attentive. Definitely recommend for the 21+ crowd. I had a good time there with my friend and we met some interesting people. Highly recommend for a laid back local bar experience.

5. Flamingo Cocktail Club

Hours: Tue: 6:00 pm – 11:30 pm; Wed – Sat: 6:00 pm – 2:00 am; Sunday: 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Enjoying a night out doesn’t require hurting the planet. Flamingo Cocktail Club operates with a serious commitment to green business practices. The club uses compostable and organic materials to reduce its environmental footprint.

I love their tropical neon aesthetic that provides a refreshing visual break from standard city bars.

The management curates a diverse weekly event schedule. You can watch live jazz performances early in the evening before the space shifts into a Latin dance party.

Founder Angela Laino personally designed the seasonal artisanal cocktail menu. The drinks focus heavily on complex flavor profiles and artistic presentation.

That said, the venue doesn’t operate as a full-time club every night of the week. Certain evenings are exclusively reserved for community wellness events. You must also adhere to a formal dress code on weekends and pay cover charges for many themed parties.

Pros

  • Strong green sustainability practices
  • Artisanal seasonal cocktail program
  • Curated local artist showcases
  • Diverse entertainment and genres

Cons

  • Strict weekend dress code
  • Frequent event cover charges
  • Inconsistent late-night operating hours

Nashville native visiting the city. Always good to hear Live music! Good Vibes and great bar service. Wednesday night band was pretty much freestyle but dope. I’ll be back for sure and grab a seat next time.

The vibes here are genuinely unmatched. Stumbled upon this place while visiting from LA and could not have been more impressed with the vegan menu, eclectic music, and cool bartenders/servers. Everyone I know in Nashville loves flamingo!
