We Vetted the 5 Best Masonry Contractors in Nashville and Left No Stone Unturned

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Craftsmanship and Precision: We assessed the quality of finished joints and the ability to match existing brick or stone colors perfectly. This ensures that any repairs or new additions blend seamlessly with your home’s current aesthetic.

Professionalism and Communication: A team that communicates well usually finishes the job on time without surprises. We prioritized contractors who respond quickly to inquiries and keep a tidy workspace during the project.

Versatility and Specialization: Finding the right match is key. We looked for companies that excel in their specific niche. This ranges from handling general repairs to mastering complex structural restorations.

Transparency in Pricing: We favored businesses that provide clear, detailed estimates without hidden fees or vague line items. Knowing exactly what you are paying for helps in planning a realistic budget for your renovation.

Finding a reliable mason in Nashville isn’t easy. Homeowners dreaming of stone patios and developers needing structural integrity both need quality craftsmanship.

Nashville’s architectural identity relies on its distinctive brickwork. Maintaining that legacy requires experts with deep technical knowledge.

We have all heard the horror stories of “pros” who disappear mid-project or leave behind mortar joints that look like they were applied by a caffeinated squirrel.

Thus, we reviewed the market to help you avoid these issues. By analyzing performance and project history, we narrowed the field to those who truly understand the local limestone and brick demands of our patios, driveways, chimneys, and fireplaces.

Our team evaluated contractors on criteria ranging from historic foundation matching to modern hardscaping to identify the best masonry contractors in Nashville.

How much does masonry service cost in Nashville?

In Nashville, the price you’ll pay for masonry depends on the project size and materials. For small brick repairs like fixing minor cracks, expect to spend between $200 and $500. For moderate work, such as tuckpointing sections of a wall, costs typically range from $500 to $1,500. Larger projects like building a custom stone patio or a full chimney rebuild can easily start at $3,000 and go well beyond $15,000 for high-end outdoor living spaces.

1. JG Masonry

jg-masonry

Website: https://jgmasonry.us/

Address: 4316 Saundersville Road, Old Hickory

Contact: (615) 506-7965 | [email protected]

Hours: Mon–Sat 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

JG Masonry handles heavy-duty structural additions while maintaining a clean job site. They specialize in retaining walls and home additions designed to match the original house structure.

The owner, Juan Jose Guardado, is patient with fine details, ensuring that every brick and stone is placed with absolute precision. The crew works long hours to hit deadlines. This helps if you are on a tight timeline.

You will often see Juan on-site personally inspecting the mortar consistency and final leveling of stone courses.

I like that their approach to site management includes a thorough daily cleanup, ensuring that your property remains walkable even during major construction phases.

Clients often find that this level of oversight prevents the common headaches associated with large-scale masonry builds.

Because they operate as a smaller team, their schedule can fill up quickly during the peak spring season. To manage this, the team maintains a focused project list to ensure that every client receives personal attention from the leadership.

Pros

  • Daily debris removal and site organization
  • Reinforced structural support for residential additions
  • Expertise in gravity and cantilever retaining walls

Cons

  • Smaller team size restricts capacity
  • Limited availability on weekends
  • Potential for scheduling delays during the peak spring season

A previous client has praised their herringbone walkways for the precision in brick placement, making these features a talking point among locals.

Pros

  • Tiered pricing options for different budget levels
  • Custom layouts using interlocking pavers and pea gravel

Cons

3. Ayala Stone Masonry

ayala-stone-masonry

Website: https://ayalastonemasonry.com/

Areas Served: Middle Tennessee

Contact: (615) 491-0044 | [email protected]

Hours:

  • Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sat-Sun By Appointment Only

Ayala Stone Masonry specializes in intricate tuckpointing and historic stone restoration in Middle Tennessee.

This team approaches masonry with precision which is essential when matching aged mortar on decades-old chimneys.

Because the company does not use subcontractors, the same crew handles the project from start to finish.

They also respond quickly to inquiries and provide estimates for crumbling stone features.

What’s most notable though, is that their craftsmanship is detailed enough that they even take the time to shave down sharp edges on stone posts to keep things safe for families.

That said, this same level of attention to detail and limited hours during weekends might make it longer for them to finish their restorations. But it is this consistency and planning that exactly explain why they have such a stellar reputation.

Pros

  • Expert specialization in historic restoration
  • Detailed tuckpointing for aged mortar
  • Consistent quality due to a family-operated team
  • Efficient communications

Cons

  • Limited hours for weekend appointments

Customer Reviews

Ayala Stone Masonry did an excellent job tuckpointing my stone home and chimney. Their craftsmanship was top-notch, and the results speak for themselves. The team was professional, on time, and made sure everything was cleaned up thoroughly after the job. I’m beyond impressed and will absolutely be using them for all my future masonry needs. Highly recommend!

My chimney is 63 years old and in very bad shape. I found Daniel on Thumbtack and he responded quickly to give me an estimate and was able to make the repairs the very next day. I had great service at a fair price. I own a retail business so I know how hard you have to work so we need to continue to support wonderful businesses such as this one. I would definitely hire them again!

4. Ashbusters Chimney Service Nashville

Website: https://ashbusters.net/

Address: 992 Davidson Drive #106

Contact: (615) 490-9364

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Ashbusters focuses on projects related to chimney masonry and fireplace safety.

They have served the Nashville area for nearly 40 years, offering deep local experience.

They are well known for exterior brickwork and if you have a chimney that is flaking or deteriorating, their Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) certified technicians provide qualified service.

Something worth noticing is how their technicians wear shoe covers and masks to keep client homes clean during operations. This attention to detail makes them ideal for nitpicky clients.

On top of that, they inspect for hidden masonry issues during standard cleanings to help prevent future fire hazards.

However, because they are highly specialized, scheduling delays can occur during peak seasons. Additionally, complex repairs may require multiple service appointments rather than a single visit.

Pros

  • Nearly 40 years of local experience
  • Technicians are CSIA-certified
  • Extremely professional and detailed work conduct
  • Also offers chimney and fireplace inspections

Cons

  • Potential for scheduling delays during peak season
  • Repairs may require multiple service appointments

I highly recommend them, very professional

We had a great experience with Ashbusters service. Our fireplace needed cleaning and the exterior masonry needed work, and they did it to perfection. They wore shoe coves and masks in the house, and cleaned very well. I highly recommend them, very professional.

Everything was done to perfection.

I was so impressed with the service and final product that Ashbusters provided!  They came to clean my chimney and inspected the chimney inside and out.  Jason discovered some masonry work that needed to be done, so he came back another day to complete.  Everything was done to perfection.  I was so pleased with he and his partner’s work ethic , professionalism, and clean up.  It was a very nice experience.  The ladies in the office were so friendly and accommodating.  Great experience all around and I highly recommend them for service.

5. Stewart Masonry

stewart-masonry

Website: https://www.stewartmasonrytn.com/

Address: 132 Lakeside Park Drive, Hendersonville

Contact: (615) 973-9576 | [email protected]

Hours: By Appointment Only

Stewart Masonry works on custom stonework and unique residential features, such as rock mailboxes or historic foundation matching.

With over 30 years of experience, they can integrate new stone with foundations that are over a century old.

They often tackle jobs other contractors refuse as too detailed for larger crews. They are also known for being incredibly fast, sometimes starting a project the very next morning after an estimate is approved.

Note that they operate strictly by appointment, so you cannot just drop by an office to chat.

Additionally, communication can occasionally slow down once the crew is deep into a labor-intensive project, but the custom, one-of-a-kind results are usually worth the wait.

Pros

  • Experts in matching historic foundations
  • Able to start projects very quickly
  • Specialized in custom features like rock mailboxes
  • Ideal for unique, detailed and complex jobs

Cons

  • Operations are strictly by appointment only
  • Occasional gaps in communication during labor-intensive work
