We Verified The 5 Best Golf Coaches in Nashville to Lower Your Handicap

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Instructional Technology: We looked for facilities that use tools like TrackMan, high-speed video, or comparable analysis software. This ensures you aren't just guessing about your swing path during a session.

Coach Expertise: Experience with different skill levels is vital for a well-rounded academy. We prioritized coaches with recognized professional teaching credentials.

Program Variety: We looked for great coaches who offer a range of options, including group clinics and junior programs. This variety allows for a flexible learning environment for families and busy professionals.

Student Success Stories: Real-world progress is the ultimate metric for any coaching service. We weighed heavily on the actual results and feedback from local Nashville golfers who have seen measurable improvement.

If there is one thing harder than finding a parking spot on Broadway on a Saturday night, it is fixing a slice that just won’t quit.

Most golfers know the frustration of standing on the tee box with high confidence, only to watch the ball peel off into the woods for the fifth time that day.

You can buy the most expensive driver on the rack and watch every YouTube tutorial in existence, but nothing beats a pair of expert eyes analyzing your mechanics.

With so many academies promising to turn you into the next Scottie Scheffler, determining who is actually worth the hourly rate can be difficult.

We skipped the fluff and went straight to the pros who use real data, high-tech sensors, and verified teaching methods. Beginners will find patience and foundational skills here, while scratch golfers can finally shave that final stroke off their scorecard.

These are the best golf coaches in Nashville who can actually help you play your best.

How much does golf coaching cost in Nashville?

Golf instruction in Nashville generally follows a model where investment correlates with the level of attention received. Private sessions at many premium academies typically fall in the $110 to $250 per hour range. Many local clubs offer group clinics or intro classes, often in the roughly $40 to $60 per-session range, depending on the facility. These group settings often work well for beginners learning the basics. For great improvement, most players opt for multi-lesson packages or monthly memberships.

These can range from $400 for a small bundle to over $2,000 for annual comprehensive programs.

1. Profectus Golf

profectus-golf

Website: https://profectusgolf.com/

Address: Gaylord Springs Golf Links, 18 Springhouse Lane

Contact: (615) 647-9349 (Text) | [email protected]

Hours: Mon-Sat 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Profectus Golf offers a data-driven path to a better game without unnecessary distractions. Their primary appeal lies in results backed by advanced Trackman technology and professional club fitting.

When I stopped by, the facility’s approach stood out immediately. The studio felt less like a standard lesson tee and more like a laboratory dedicated to swing mechanics.

They also avoid vague advice and instead show you the exact metrics of your ball flight. The entire team excels at translating complex data into simple, feel-based cues that translate effectively to the course.

As effective as the program is, prospective students should plan around a schedule that runs strictly Monday through Saturday. “Sunday golfers” who only have time for lessons on the weekend’s tail end might find booking a slot difficult.

However, the sheer distance gain many students report, which is often over 20 yards with a driver, makes the weekday hustle worth the effort.

This is a premium experience designed for players who want to see their progress documented in black and white.

Pros

  • Guaranteed score improvement
  • Advanced Trackman technology
  • Expert club fitting integration
  • Data-driven instruction path

Cons

  • No Sunday availability
  • Premium pricing for single sessions

Customer Reviews

Try one of their coaching programs

Nothing but great things to say about their business and coaching programs. Everyone I’ve encountered has been professional and personable. I have been working with coach Matt since June and already seeing the results I was looking for. He is very knowledgeable and understands my personal goals. I highly recommend to anyone trying to better their golf game to try one of their coaching programs.

Great club fitting experience

Great club fitting experience with Matt and Profectus Golf! Matt demonstrated an extensive knowledge of all the swing and shot metrics that truly impact my swing. What was even better was his ability to communicate how each metric was impacting my swing as we made improvements throughout the fitting. We landed on a set that not only maximized my distance but also offered more forgivable misses!

Nancy Quarcelino has built a reputation in the Nashville area for her ability to read body mechanics instantly. Her introductory programs for women make a complex sport feel approachable and fun.

I’ve spoken to a few ladies at the range who mentioned they felt zero intimidation during their first sessions here. If you want a warm, encouraging environment that focuses on your specific physical capabilities, this school delivers.

The school uses high-end FlightScope technology, a 3D Doppler tracking system that allows you to visualize exactly what is happening at impact. But the real value lies in the personalized video lockers provided for students to review at home.

Truly a great golf instructor

Nancy’s recognition in the golf industry speaks for itself and I can attest that she is truly a great golf instructor.  What I have found unique about Nancy is that I finally understand the mechanics of my golf swing and after finishing a lesson, I can go and play better golf immediately.  If you have the chance to take golf instruction from Nancy, you will find her skill set excellent and her personality warm and kind.

I highly recommend their class for anyone

I attended a two-day women’s introduction to golf. It was a very fun time! Rita and Nancy are both extremely talented at reading people’s body mechanics and tailoring their coaching to the individual. They take great care to communicate in a way that the individual person will easily understand, taking into account our personalities and backgrounds. Golf can be intimidating, with all the gear and the variables of the game. Nancy and Rita made it seem approachable and fun. I highly recommend their class for anyone, but especially women completely new to golf.

3. Malone Golf Academy

Address: 640 Old Hickory Blvd, Old Hickory

Contact: (615) 268-6863 | [email protected]

Hours:

  • Mon-Fri 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sat 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Malone Golf Academy provides family-oriented and junior development coaching in the Nashville area.

Garrick Malone, founder and namesake, possesses a unique gift for simplifying the game so that technical concepts “click” for younger players and adults alike. He treats his students with a personal touch, creating a very relaxed atmosphere for learning.

My own experience with his teaching style is that he focuses heavily on the mental approach and decision-making, rather than solely on the physical swing.

While the instruction is highly regarded, you should be prepared for a bit of a trek to Old Hickory. This can be a significant commute for those coming from South Nashville or Brentwood during rush hour.

Additionally, they specialize heavily in PING club fittings. Players won’t be able to test or purchase gear from other major manufacturers, like TaylorMade or Callaway, on-site.

Still, for parents looking to introduce their kids to the game or intermediates wanting to break bad habits, Garrick is a fantastic mentor.

Pros

  • Renowned junior programs
  • Simplified teaching style
  • Strong focus on mental game
  • Relaxed learning atmosphere

Cons

  • Location can be far for some
  • Limited brand-neutral fitting options

Customer Reviews

I strongly recommend Garrick to anyone looking to improve their golf game

I took five golf lessons with Garrick Malone last year, and the difference in my game was incredible. I started hitting the ball farther, crisper, and straighter than ever before. Garrick helped me undo years of bad habits—especially with my grip and swing path—and explained everything in a way that just clicked. He has a real talent for simplifying things and making them easy to understand. I strongly recommend Garrick to anyone looking to improve their golf game. He’s an amazing teacher and coach!

One of the best coaches in the area

Garrick is one of the best coaches in the area.  He has a proven track record for success and I have referred him to anyone and everyone I know with a junior interested in golf.  His dedication to helping my son grow in his game has been nothing but phenomenal.  Garrick has become family to us and always will be.  My son thinks the world of Garrick and will forever be grateful for the time energy and effort he has made in helping him reach his goals on and off the course.  Thank you Garrick for your support.

4. Nashville City Golf

Address: 200 Second Ave South

Contact: (615) 927-3538 | [email protected]

Hours:

  • Tues-Sat 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Sun 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Nashville City Golf provides a premier indoor simulator experience located directly in the heart of downtown. This location offers convenience for professionals who want to squeeze in a lesson or practice session regardless of the weather.

The facility provides an upscale lounge environment with high-tech Trackman iO simulators.

I spent an afternoon there, and the space felt more like a private club than a typical training center, maintained with impeccable cleanliness and modern aesthetics.

Accessing this high-tech environment does require a level of dedication, as the membership model involves a minimum six-month commitment. This might deter someone just looking for a quick one-off tip.

Since it is also an indoor-only facility, you won’t see your actual ball flight in the wind or on grass. For those who value comfort and downtown accessibility, this is the most stylish way to play.

Pros

  • Convenient downtown location
  • High-end indoor simulators
  • Flexible evening hours
  • Clean and modern facility

Cons

  • 6-month minimum membership
  • No outdoor grass practice

Best 1on1 experience I’ve had with a golf instructor in Nashville

Best 1on1 experience I’ve had with a golf instructor in Nashville. Bren is phenomenal to work with for various skill levels. I’ve been making better contact with the ball and started taking strokes off my game in the short time I’ve worked with him. He’s very analytical with your swing but also understands that everyone is different. I would recommend him to anyone who is trying to improve their game!

NCG Club is by far the best golf facility around

I’ve been to NCG several times with friends to use the simulators and we’ve always had the best time. I decided to purchase a lesson pack with Bren and took my first lesson. I can’t speak highly enough of him and his coaching. In just one session, we made some great progress correcting several aspects of my swing. Bren is a fantastic instructor and the NCG Club is by far the best golf facility around. Whether it’s for lessons, a fitting, or the use of the simulators / trackman, this place is CLEAN. 10/10 would recommend!

5. GOLFTEC Nashville West

golftec-nashville-west

Website: https://www.golftec.com/golf-lessons/nashville-west

Address: 6800 Charlotte Pike, Suite 104

Contact: (615) 696-6690

Hours:

  • Mon-Tue, Thu 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Wed, Fri: 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Sat-Sun 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

GOLFTEC Nashville West operates as a powerhouse for systematic, technology-driven swing evaluations.

They use a proprietary system called Optimotion to track your body movements in real-time. This compares your specific data to that of PGA Tour pros.

This scientific approach helps beginners build a swing from the ground up without relying on guesswork.

The facility maintains a professional tone, and the coaches effectively use the GOLFTEC app to send drills you can practice on your own.

This level of integrated technology does come at a premium, and the price point can feel higher compared to traditional outdoor lessons.

However, it functions as an investment in a long-term plan rather than a “quick fix” for a slice before a weekend scramble. The ability to review your lesson videos on your phone later provides a significant advantage for consistency.

So if you want a high-tech roadmap to a better swing, GOLFTEC is one of the best options, if not the best at all, when it comes to indoor training.

Pros

  • Proprietary motion tracking tech
  • Integrated app for home practice
  • Comprehensive club fitting
  • Video review available on phone

Cons

  • Can be more expensive than average
  • More clinical than outdoor coaching

Customer Reviews

Highly recommend for new and existing golfers!

As a new golfer, I really needed help with my swing and basic mechanics. Andy was very helpful, professional, and overall encouraging to help me learn. The facility is always clean and the technology available assists and understanding what I was doing right and wrong. Highly recommend for new and existing golfers! My club fitting was my favorite part as it helped me to see what I really needed to help me not only improve but enjoy my time out on the course.

A tremendous step in the right direction

Highly recommended, even though it might seem expensive compared to some traditional lessons.  I started with lessons for myself, then for my son, and we can both say it has been a tremendous step in the right direction.  They do not offer quick fixes or magic formulas, but the changes they make will help you find a more solid, consistent swing.  The app allows you to review the lessons, as well as watch related drill videos.  Golf is hard, and improvement can be even harder to find.  Golftec has definitely helped me find some answers.
